Installation and Setup
Installation is quite straight-forward. Just follow the onscreen-instructions.
Setup is more critical, though. You want to make sure you use the right properties and directories. First enter the Settings-Menu under File/Settings
You should see a single tab called "Application Settings" Here you can decide where to save the images, what kind of files you want to copy and how the directories should be named. After you done that, press the "SAVE" - button on the bottom left area under "Card Settings".
After that put your FlashAir-Card in an SD-Card-reader of your computer. Now click "LOAD" in the upper left area of the screen under "Card Settings".
After a while, new Tabs should appear. Now click onto the "Vendor"- Tab. Please be advised that the FAD tries to help you with your selections but does not prevent you from doing really stupid things. I am unsure if you can brick your FlashAir with the wrong values. I am quite sure though that you can stop it working. If that appears, use a new, default cunfig file and try again.
If one option cannot be changed, this means your card does not support this feature.
First make sure the Timeout isn't too low. Valid values start from 1 minute to 10 minutes. You also can set it to "0" meaning there is no timeout at all.
If you use more than one card and want to store the images in different folders, the values from "App-Info" and "Card ID" will be used. I would suggest using "App-Info" as you may enter nearly any value here.
If you haven't already configure the network-settings from your FlashAir you can/should also modify those settings here.
Also make sure "Upload Enabled" is activated if you want FAD to delete files after downloading.
After you've done that. Use the "SAVE"-Button on the top left to save the Settings.
I would suggest leaving the FlashAir in the SD-Slot and click onto "File/Start". In your PC the FlashAir works just like into your camera. So if your settings are correct, the start page should display "Connection succeeded".
You're don!
