Package rename: fastapi-guard-agent → guard-agent

This major release renames the package on PyPI to reflect its multi-framework scope. Guard Agent is now a framework-agnostic telemetry agent for the Guard ecosystem — fastapi-guard, flaskapi-guard, djangoapi-guard, and tornadoapi-guard.

No code changes required

The Python import path is unchanged:

from guard_agent import GuardAgentHandler, AgentConfig  # still works, only the distribution name is different. Update at your leisure:

# Still works (via a meta-package that pulls guard-agent transitively)
pip install fastapi-guard-agent

# Preferred going forward
pip install guard-agent

What changed

• Renamed on PyPI: fastapi-guard-agent → https://pypi.org/project/guard-agent/.
• Legacy name preserved: https://pypi.org/project/fastapi-guard-agent/ ships as a meta-package whose only dependency is guard agent>=2.0.0,<3.0.0, so existing install commands keep resolving.
• Repository: https://github.com/rennf93/fastapi-guard-agent → https://github.com/rennf93/guard-agent (GitHub auto-redirects old URLs).
• Documentation: now at https://rennf93.github.io/guard-agent/.
• Runtime default endpoint: https://api.fastapi-guard.com → https://api.guard-core.com.
• Runtime dependencies slimmed: fastapi and fastapi-guard removed from hard deps (the agent is framework-agnostic and speaks HTTP to the dashboard). They remain in dev extras for the test suite.
• Development status promoted from Alpha to Beta; dropped Framework :: FastAPI classifier.

Migration guide

• Existing code: nothing to change.

• Install commands: swap fastapi-guard-agent for guard-agent when convenient.

• Lockfiles: uv lock / pip-compile after bumping will transparently update entries.

• Custom endpoints: if your deployments explicitly set agent_endpoint, no change. If you relied on the default and need to stay on api.fastapi-guard.com for any reason, set endpoint="https://api.fastapi-guard.com" explicitly.
