Release list
PlayStation 0.5.2
Disc changing, button settings and picture fixes for the PlayStation core for Analogue Pocket.
New
- Change discs in multi-disc games: when the game asks, choose Core Settings → Disc. The core opens and closes the lid for you. This needs one game file that holds all of a game's discs, made by the SD card helper page (Chrome or Edge, nothing to install). All discs then share one memory card.
- L Button / R Button settings: choose what the Pocket's L and R press (L1, L2 or L3 / R1, R2 or R3).
- SELECT + L/R and SELECT + Y/A settings: choose what those combos press.
Fixed
- A stray line under some screens and a missing top line (for example FFVII's disc prompt).
- PAL games lost their bottom rows (for example Wipeout); they now show the full picture.
Changed
- 480i screens are always woven into full frames; the 480i weave setting is gone.
- "Load game" is no longer in the menu. To switch games, go back and pick another one.
Install / update: unzip GuardianSoul.PlayStation_0.5.2_2026-10-16.zip to the root of your SD card, replacing the old core files. Your BIOS, games, game files and saves keep working; nothing needs to change. Run the SD card helper only if you want to change discs from the menu. Full steps are in the README.
Known limits
- Early release: some games may glitch or not boot. See COMPATIBILITY.md.
- pupdate and Pocket Sync make one game file per disc, so changing discs from the menu needs the SD card helper for now.
GuardianSoul.PlayStation_0.5.2_2026-10-16_source.tar.gz is the complete Quartus project this bitstream was built from. The core is GPL-2.0; see LICENSE and THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.
PlayStation 0.5.1
Fixes and controls update for the PlayStation core for Analogue Pocket.
Fixed
- Saving in games that don't format the memory card themselves, such as Wipeout. A new memory card file is now formatted automatically. Cards made by 0.5.0 are repaired the same way, and existing saves are kept. (#1)
- Crackling CD music and sound effects in some games, such as WipEout. (#1)
New
- L2, R2, L3 and R3 on the Pocket's own buttons: hold Select and press L, R, Y or A. Tap Select on its own for Select.
Install / update: unzip PlayStation-<version>.zip to the root of your SD card, replacing the old core files. Your BIOS, games and saves stay where they are. Full steps are in the README.
Known limits
- Early release: other games may glitch or not boot. See COMPATIBILITY.md.
- Multi-disc games and disc changes are untested beyond disc 1.
PlayStation-<version>-source.tar.gz is the complete Quartus project this bitstream was built from. The core is GPL-2.0; see LICENSE and THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.
PlayStation 0.5.0
