Steam Vault v1.3.0

Release date: 2026-10-15
Version Type: Semantic Versioning

✨ Highlights

Steam Vault v1.3.0 introduces a major transformation with a brand-new Executive Gaming Dashboard, dedicated Multi-Platform Storage Analytics & Installed Games Explorer, native Per-Game Installation Directory Management with Cross-Drive Relocation, and a high-performance Redis-Compatible In-Memory KV Tier.

This release streamlines the entire gaming management experience: users gain instant visual access to real-time library KPIs, recent titles with instantaneous launch actions, and cross-platform storefront capacity distribution, all while retaining fine-grained control over multi-drive storage footprints and clean, zero-residue Windows uninstall hooks.

🚀 Key Improvements & Features

  • Executive Gaming Dashboard (/) — Replaces legacy metadata provider lists with an executive control center:

    • KPI Metrics Strip: At-a-glance visibility into Total Library games, Ready-to-Play titles, aggregate Total Playtime, Starred Favorites, and Free Connected Storage capacity.
    • "Jump Back In" Hero & Carousel: Dynamic carousel of recently played and favorite games with direct one-click ▶ launch buttons, recent session indicators, and live playtime stats.
    • Storefront Ecosystem Capacity Distribution: Proportional multi-platform progress bar charting installed footprint distributions across Steam, GOG, Epic Games, Xbox, EA, Ubisoft, Battle.net, and emulators.
    • Top Played Titles Leaderboard: Quick-ranking leaderboard showcasing the user's most-played titles and invested hours.
    • Quick Actions Hub: One-click navigation to Library, Storage Explorer, Manual Shortcut Addition, and Platform Settings.
  • Multi-Platform Storage Analytics & Storage Explorer (/storage) — Replaces manual folder registration with an automated multi-store storage intelligence center:

    • Multi-Platform Usage Breakdown: Capacity meters and game counts across all 12 supported platforms with brand-specific visual accents.
    • Connected Storage Drives Overview: Visual volume utilization bars highlighting aggregate used space, available free space, and the dedicated gaming footprint on each mounted drive.
    • Installed Games Storage Explorer: Searchable, platform-filterable directory explorer with proportional size progress bars and direct deep links (/library?game=<appId>) to game details.
  • Per-Game Installation Directory Management & Cross-Drive Relocation (/library):

    • Installation & Storage Card: Per-game details sub-page reveals exact disk size, resolved root installation path (accounting for relative Steam manifests and absolute non-Steam paths), executable path, and a one-click "📂 Open Folder" action.
    • Atomic Cross-Drive Move Tool: Built into the game Manage modal, allowing users to move installed Steam games between registered library folders. Includes pre-flight free space safety verification (preview_move_game) and atomic directory relocation with automated appmanifest_<appid>.acf rewriting (move_game).
  • Serverless In-Memory & Backend Redis-Compatible KV Tier (cache.rs, redis.ts):

    • High-performance Redis-compatible key-value storage engine handling ultra-fast transient caching of game stats, metadata lookups, and session state.
    • Fully exposed via strongly typed Tauri IPC commands (redis_get, redis_set, redis_del, redis_keys, redis_flush).
  • Epic Games Launcher & Legendary CLI Integration (launchers.rs):

    • Added configurable binary and folder path support (legendary_path) allowing users to designate custom standalone installations outside PATH (e.g. E:\Games\Epic Games\Legendary).
    • Multi-platform auto-detection scanning installation directories, user tools folders, and mounted drives.
    • Added a dedicated "Download Legendary ↗" action pointing directly to GitHub Releases alongside the 1-click built-in downloader.
    • Enables direct, lightweight launching of Epic Games titles even when the official Epic Games Launcher is not running or not installed.
  • Clean Uninstallation NSIS Hooks (hooks.nsh):

    • Embedded Windows NSIS uninstaller lifecycle hooks ensuring complete post-uninstall sanitization of WebView2 runtime caches, local app data, and temporary files.

✅ Changed

  • Sidebar & Status Cleanliness: Removed persistent "Steam is closed / running" process notice from the global sidebar. Live process monitoring has been relocated exclusively inside the Depressurizer Mode operation card in /settings.
  • Database Schema Upgrade: Upgraded offline SQLite cache to schema v4 with dedicated user review score caching.
  • Library Folder Management: Removed redundant manual Steam library folder deletion/addition controls from the Storage view in favor of automated launcher autodetection and per-game relocation workflows.

🐛 Fixed

  • Epic Games Account Portal OAuth client_not_found Error: Resolved {"errorCode":"errors.com.epicgames.accountportal.client_not_found"} by replacing outdated/deprecated client tokens with the active Legendary portal helper (https://legendary.gl/epiclogin) and valid client ID (34a02cf8f4414e29b15921876da36f9a), alongside resilient credential parsing for authorization codes, JSON payloads, and session ID (--sid) cookies.
  • Chromium WebView2 Win32 Window Class Unregistration: Resolved UnregisterClassW failed: 1412 (ERROR_CLASS_ALREADY_EXISTS) during rapid window teardown and reload in debug mode.
  • Relative Path Resolution for Installed Games: Fixed Steam manifest installDir relative path stems to properly resolve against each library folder's parent steamapps/common/ path.
  • Provider Image Fallback Cascades: Fixed catalogue indexer to cleanly cascade header, capsule, hero, logo, and icon images across all secondary metadata providers when primary store images are absent.
