Bitcoin Browser 0.2.0-beta.1 — Create Alpha
Pre-releaseBitcoin Browser 0.2.0-beta.1 brings Create Alpha into a dedicated native workspace, alongside the browser’s Bitcoin navigation and viewers.
What’s new
- Create Alpha: a clearly labeled mode with 24 starters for websites, generative art, recursive galleries, games and Ordinals experiences. Browse returns to the native Bitcoin Browser.
- Collections: batch image import, traits, metadata editing and inscription preparation.
- Native protocol creators: Rune etching with configurable open-mint terms, Bitmap, BRC-20 and Sats Names. These are native forms rather than websites presented as creators.
- Inscription libraries: an expanded catalog, dependency inspection and a warning modal that requires acceptance before adding an unqualified library.
- A new Start experience: WebGL particles assemble into the Bitcoin Browser logo, with guided search, discovery actions and useful returning-user history. Pause/replay, reduced motion and a static fallback keep the page usable.
- Release improvements: narrow-window layout fixes, separate Create/Browse renderer authority, native packaged checks, and updated installation guides.
Downloads and signing
Eighteen application downloads cover macOS, Windows and Linux on arm64 and x64.
| Platform | Formats | Signing |
|---|---|---|
| macOS | DMG and ZIP, Apple silicon and Intel | Developer ID-signed by MoonScape Labs Inc; not Apple-notarized |
| Windows | Setup EXE, Portable EXE and ZIP, ARM64 and Intel/AMD | Unsigned, with no verified publisher |
| Linux | AppImage, DEB, RPM and tar.gz, ARM64 and Intel/AMD | Package/repository signatures are not provided |
This is a public prerelease. macOS Gatekeeper and Windows may warn or restrict launch. Installation guidance is included in the source repository; keep operating-system security protections enabled. Use SHA256SUMS to verify downloaded files.
Qualification and limits
Source, security and high-severity dependency audit gates precede native packaged checks on all six OS/architecture targets. The exact signed Apple silicon application additionally passed 35 packaged checks and the full native homepage and Creator qualification runs. Both signed Mac packages have verified source/payload inventories, Developer ID signatures, hardened runtime and seven release fuses. The Intel signed archive is built on the owner’s Apple silicon Mac; its matching application source is exercised on the native Intel CI runner. Native reports and per-artifact provenance are included in this release.
Create remains Alpha. Mainnet transaction execution and protocol-indexer acceptance are not yet qualified. Existing transaction qualification uses disposable Bitcoin Core/Ord regtest wallets. A synced compatible Core/Ord node and an explicitly reviewed transaction are required for production inscriptions. No wallet recovery or seed import is included. Browser extension wallet signing remains disabled in packaged builds. Dependency audits have no high or critical findings; the browser lockfile retains nine moderate findings, recorded in the attached audit.
Updating and previous builds
Updates are manual. Back up your browser profile and export Create projects before changing versions or returning to an older build. The original v0.1.0 downloads and the October 7 notarized Apple silicon v1.0.0-rc.2 DMG remain available in the original release. That older app does not include Create. Historical notarization applies only to that older file.
The download page includes current platform choices, a dated changelog and expandable historical downloads. Source, manifests, checksums, license inventories and native qualification evidence accompany the application files.
