Silo v0.2.0
What's new in 0.2.0
Mod integrity verification. The detail drawer can check an installed mod against the trusted build SiloAPI hashed from its source: Verified (byte-for-byte or content match), Modified (with the exact list of changed, added and removed files), or Unverified (no hashed build to compare against yet). Verified and modified mods carry a badge in the Library list. It's a provenance check, not a virus scan. Coverage spans GitHub and ModHub sources and grows every hour.
Organize preview. The manual Organize button now shows a read-only dry run first, listing which zips move into which archive/<Category>/ folder. Confirm to apply, or Cancel to touch nothing. "Don't preview next time" turns it off.
Security
- Silo only removes files it can prove it created, and now tells you when it leaves your own swapped-in build alone.
- Organize, restore and deactivate never remove a file from the mods root unless the archived copy exists.
- Config and mod-settings edits are confined to the FS25 user folder, back up first, and are written atomically.
- Direct catalog installs must be a fully openable
.zipcontainingmodDesc.xml, and must match the catalog's hash byte-for-byte when one exists. - Mod downloads carry no credentials. Interrupted updates roll back to the previous version.
- Upgraded
quick-xmlfor RUSTSEC-2026-0194 and -0195. The CI dependency audit is now a release gate.
Changed
- Catalog images load from SiloAPI's server-side cache when available, falling back to the in-app proxy.
