A full-featured Spotify clone with music streaming, playlists, and recommendations.

🚀 Quick Start

1. Setup Supabase (Database & Auth)

1. Go to supabase.com and create a free account
2. Create a new project
3. Go to SQL Editor and run the contents of supabase_schema.sql
4. Go to Settings > API and copy:
   • Project URL
   • anon/public key

2. Run Backend Locally

cd "spotify clone/api"

# Create virtual environment
python3 -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate  # On Windows: venv\Scripts\activate

# Install dependencies
pip install -r requirements.txt

# Run server
python main.py

API will be at: http://localhost:8080

3. Run Frontend Locally

# Copy env file and add your Supabase credentials
cp .env.example .env
# Edit .env with your values

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Run dev server
npm run dev

Frontend will be at: http://localhost:5173

Deploy API to Cloud Run

🐛 Troubleshooting

API not working?

• Check if ytmusicapi is installed correctly
• Some songs may not have audio available
• Check Cloud Run logs: gcloud run logs read --service spotify-api

Audio not playing?

• Stream URLs expire after ~30 minutes
• Try refreshing the page
• Check browser console for errors

Auth not working?

• Verify Supabase credentials in .env
• Check Supabase dashboard for error logs
• Make sure email confirmation is enabled/disabled as needed
