@HWG90 HWG90 released this 28 Sep 01:37

R31 - Scrambled Codes

  • Replace blanket rejection of scrambled codes with the native per-stratagem effect query and the same shifted-definition calculation used by the game matcher.
  • Use the resolved sequence for both Confirm and Select on Release, including different code lengths. Preserve the selected stratagem identity.
  • Recheck the required code before each directional input. If it changes, stop the sequence; close and reopen the menu before selecting again.
  • Restore the temporary release binding on interruption. A later clean selection can proceed without reloading the mod.
  • Validate source and resolved definitions, position ownership, and native function signatures. Native availability restrictions still apply; this does not bypass jamming.

Install DiversBestFriend-R31-ScrambledCodes.zip through Arsenal with the game closed. Test Confirm and, optionally, Select on Release inside and outside the reported scrambling effect. Check entry and exit during an input sequence as well as recovery afterward. Select on Release remains off by default.

Automated regression tests pass. The native query and remapping are derived from the supported game build; live verification against the reported spire/scrambler encounters remains pending.

DiversBestFriend R30 - Beacon Handoff

@HWG90 HWG90 released this 28 Sep 00:58

R30 - Beacon Handoff

A comparison trace showed that physical menu release queues a return to the primary weapon. The native opener sees the beacon still equipped and skips requesting its slot again, leaving that earlier switch pending. The code matches, then the pending switch cancels the beacon.

R30 reissues the same native beacon-slot request after reopening when necessary, with owner checks and supported-build signatures. It preserves the input interval, completion wait, and binding restoration. Select on Release remains off by default; Confirm behavior is unchanged.

Install DiversBestFriend-R30-BeaconHandoff.zip through Arsenal with the game closed. Enable Select on Release and test a ready stratagem at 70-100 ms. Check that the beacon stays equipped and normal Hold behavior returns afterward. Automated regression tests pass; this fix still needs in-game verification.

DiversBestFriend R29 - Completion Wait

@HWG90 HWG90 released this 28 Sep 00:39

R29 - Completion Wait

R28 entered and matched the code, then restored Hold behavior on the next update. That could precede the game's native completion/equip transition.

R29 keeps the temporary Press-mode latch until the native menu finishes processing the selection, with a two-second timeout after the last direction. Logs now include menu, entered-count, matched-kind and queued-kind state during the wait. Normal cancellation and binding restoration remain in place.

Install DiversBestFriend-R29-CompletionWait.zip through Arsenal with the game closed. Retest Select on Release with Resupply at 70-100 ms, checking both beacon equip and normal Hold behavior afterward. No settings reset is needed.

Package and isolated regression tests pass, including delayed completion and cleanup. This is a test release: the post-code cancellation fix still needs in-game confirmation.

DiversBestFriend R28 - Release Latch

Pre-release

@HWG90 HWG90 released this 28 Sep 00:31

R28 - Release Latch

R27 logs confirmed that the native menu closed before the queued code could begin: its evaluated-button hold did not survive the next update.

R28 instead temporarily gives Display Stratagem List native Press behavior while entering the release-selected code. This is intended to keep the menu open through the configured input interval. The original trigger is restored after completion or cancellation. Key/button assignments and existing Press bindings are preserved; the addon does not write binding files or call Apply.

Includes exact-value restoration, rollback after partial setup failure, detection of changed bindings, and owner checks during cleanup. Select on Release remains optional and off by default.

Install DiversBestFriend-R28-ReleaseLatch.zip through Arsenal with the game closed. Enable Select on Release, set Input interval to 70 ms, hold the menu, point to Resupply, and release. Check whether the code completes and equips the beacon, and that normal Hold behavior returns afterward.

Test release: package and isolated Lua tests pass. The live mapping format was verified through read-only inspection, but successful latching/equipping still needs this in-game test.

DiversBestFriend R27 - Release Hold

Pre-release

@HWG90 HWG90 released this 28 Sep 00:21

R27 - Release Hold

Replaces Select on Release's one-frame input burst with a paced job that temporarily holds the native stratagem-menu action through code completion. Input interval (ms) now applies to release selections as well as Confirm. Try 70 ms for the first test.

The highlighted selection/page is pinned while entering the code. Temporary Hold actions are cleared on the update after the final matched direction, or on cancellation, timeout, focus loss or errors. Select on Release remains optional and off by default. Throw the beacon normally.

Install DiversBestFriend-R27-ReleaseHold.zip in Arsenal with the game closed, deploy, and restart. Existing bindings/settings and Arsenal identity are retained.

Test candidate: isolated tests cover paced input and cleanup, but cannot prove that native input evaluation preserves the held action between gameplay updates. Premature closure now cancels and logs the reason rather than replaying the code. Test by holding the menu button, pointing at Resupply, and releasing. Check whether the menu stays open through the arrows and equips the beacon. Logs: DiversBestFriend.log and DiversBestFriend-native.log.

DiversBestFriendCanary R33 - Polish

Pre-release

@HWG90 HWG90 released this 28 Sep 03:28

DiversBestFriendCanary R33 - Polish

  • Remove R32's centered detail card and restore the prior caption/countdown presentation.
  • Add optional native UI sound feedback for changed selection and accepted input jobs, with throttling and isolated audio-error handling.
  • Add Custom, Compact, Standard and Large size presets, wheel size, icon size, center-label size and native background opacity.
  • Group settings into Selection, Appearance, Controller and Advanced using stable IDs and native row spacing. Layout descriptions replace conditional hiding, which the documented framework API does not support.
  • Add an illustrated installation guide, mouse/controller examples and a status-message troubleshooting table.
  • Preserve R31 scrambling recovery, optional Select on Release and canary metadata/naming.

Install DiversBestFriendCanary-R33-Polish.zip with the game closed; enable only one revision. Start with Custom at 100%, or try Compact. Sound feedback defaults on and can be disabled.

Regression tests pass. Please check the native sound cues and wheel/icon/label scales in-game, including cursor alignment and mode switching. The confirmation cue means a sequence was accepted, not that the beacon is already equipped.

DiversBestFriendCanary R32 - Wheel Feedback

Choose a tag to compare

@HWG90 HWG90 released this 28 Sep 03:07

DiversBestFriendCanary R32 - Wheel Feedback

  • Add an independently constructed native row in the center of Native wheel and Experimental expanded wedges for the highlighted stratagem.
  • Reuse native availability text, countdowns and arrow-entry progress, including the game's scrambled-code presentation.
  • Add Wheel status and input progress, enabled by default; turn it off to restore the previous center caption and timer.
  • Fit the row to the wheel center, respect the saved vertical offset, and hide it when no item is highlighted.
  • Keep the original top-left list, List mode and Cards layout. Preserve R31 scrambling support and optional Select on Release.
  • Use canary package names, Arsenal metadata and diagnostic filenames.

Install DiversBestFriendCanary-R32-WheelFeedback.zip with the game closed. Canary uses the same addon identity as stable; enable only one revision.

Automated tests pass. Please test native and expanded wheels with ready/cooldown/incoming entries and watch the arrows during Confirm and Select on Release. Also check blocked/jammed status text when available. This reuses the native row renderer rather than inventing status labels; in-game appearance and progress timing still need verification.

DiversBestFriend r24 - Cooldown Indicators

Choose a tag to compare

@HWG90 HWG90 released this 27 Sep 22:50

r24 - Cooldown Indicators

Native wheel and Expanded wedges now indicate timed-out stratagems:

  • Gray/dim icons during cooldown or incoming delivery.
  • Remaining time below the selected name, using the native minute/second text widget.
  • Automatic color restoration when the native timer expires, including raw-icon mode.

List and copied Cards retain their built-in native status/countdown display. Timed entries remain selectable for inspection; Confirm still uses the game's normal availability checks. This does not claim to identify every restriction such as charges or jamming.

Reads the original HUD's cached timer/state, so native special cases such as Reinforce are retained. No new external application, dependency, or text widget is required.

Close the game, replace the previous addon ZIP in Arsenal, deploy, and restart. Stable GUID/settings/bindings retained. Requirements remain CowboyBingus' Bingus Shared Loader v18 / API 1, Mod Bindings Menu v2.0, and Mod Options Menu v1.0.1 / API 1, for Windows/Steam build 25480438.

Validation: isolated tests cover countdown expiry, minute rollover, incoming delivery, Reinforce, stale/invalid data, palette restoration, and unchanged selection. Native text rendering and placement still need an in-game check.

DiversBestFriend r23 - Wedge Appearance

Choose a tag to compare

@HWG90 HWG90 released this 27 Sep 22:39

r23 — Wedge Appearance

Expanded wedges are darker and less transparent by default, with independent controls in MODS > Native Stratagem Radial:

  • Expanded wedge darkness (%): 0 original gray to 100 black; default 70.
  • Expanded wedge opacity (%): 0 transparent to 100 opaque; default 75.

Press Apply. To restore the previous appearance, set darkness 0 and opacity 30. The selected wedge stays yellow and at least 95% opaque; icons retain their visibility and empty sectors remain fainter. Other layouts are unchanged.

Row-card blur was investigated but is not included: its native material has no texture binding for the sector mask. A direct swap is not a demonstrated wedge-shaped blur solution.

Retains r22 centering, all selection modes, cursor tracking, and existing settings/bindings. Replace the previous addon ZIP in Arsenal while the game is closed, deploy, and restart. The stable GUID is unchanged.

Requirements remain Bingus Shared Loader v18 / API 1, Mod Bindings Menu v2.0, and Mod Options Menu v1.0.1 / API 1, by CowboyBingus. Target: Windows/Steam build 25480438.

Validation: isolated Lua fixtures and deterministic package checks pass, including appearance endpoints, invalid settings, live updates, and selection preservation. In-game appearance still needs a visual check.

DiversBestFriend R26 - Polish

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@HWG90 HWG90 released this 27 Sep 23:56

R26 - Polish

  • Options and bindings now appear under Diver's Best Friend.
  • Clearer, shorter setting descriptions, including the optional release-selection behavior.
  • Logs are now DiversBestFriend.log and DiversBestFriend-native.log in the usual Shared Loader logs folder.
  • Updated installation instructions and Arsenal revision metadata. The Arsenal display name remains Diver's Best Friend - Automated Stratagem System (ASS).

Existing settings and bindings are preserved. Close the game, replace the previous addon with DiversBestFriend-R26-Polish.zip in Arsenal, deploy, and restart.

Includes R25's optional Select on Release, still off by default, and Input interval (ms), default 70 ms for Confirm-driven sequences. Release selection remains immediate and does not use that interval.

Package and isolated Lua tests pass. This remains a test release because native release selection/controller timing needs in-game validation.
