Falcon Photo Viewer 1.0.13
Falcon Photo Viewer is a free, open-source photo viewer and culling app for Windows and Apple Silicon Macs.
What's new in 1.0.13:
- Simplified Chinese. Falcon now follows your computer's language, and its first language pack is Simplified Chinese (简体中文), contributed by @DrivingGodJ in #3. Choose a language in Settings → Language; a change applies after a restart.
- Language packs. Every message Falcon shows can now be translated. A new language needs only data: one entry in the language list and one translations file, checked by
scripts/check-translations.py. - Faster photo grid. After a fast scroll, the rows on screen load first, and the rows you just left are still there on the way back.
- Lighter rendering. Less renderer work and lower memory use for RAW previews; on a Mac that is low on memory, Falcon drops speculative frames first.
Designed by Hancheng Wu. Developed with assistance from Claude and Codex. Thanks to @DrivingGodJ for the Simplified Chinese translation.
Falcon's original code is licensed under Apache-2.0. Dependencies retain their own terms; notices, matching source and rebuild instructions accompany the release.
Windows builds are unsigned. Mac builds use a free ad-hoc signature and are not notarized. See the README for first-launch instructions.

Browse large shoots, zoom in to check focus, rate and flag keepers, compare photos, and export finished images. RAW + JPEG/HEIC pairs stay together; RAW-only photos offer embedded-preview and developed-RAW viewing.
This first public release includes:
- Fast access to the selected photo and nearby images in large folders, with loading feedback while discovery continues.
- Ratings, flags, comparison, rotation and image export.
- The final app icon, glass menus and a compact About card with public social links.
- The tested native Mac toolbar and fullscreen behaviour.
