Flux 2.0.0
Flux 2.0.0
Flux 2.0 brings HTTP, adaptive media and embedded BitTorrent downloads into the same persistent desktop queue.
What's new
- Embedded BitTorrent: magnet links and local/HTTP
.torrentimport, DHT and tracker discovery, file selection, peer limits, upload/download shaping, piece repair and per-file SHA-256 verification. Supports v1 and hybrid metainfo; completed tasks stop sharing. - Direct sparse transfers: up to 32 HTTP workers write non-overlapping offsets into one destination-volume staging file. Verified checkpoints support pause/resume and legacy migration. Final integrity verification replaces chunk concatenation.
- Hybrid media capture: DOM, network and frame observations, Blob/MediaSource hints, real titles, resolution/fps choices, audio tracks and subtitles. Asynchronous metadata keeps native windows responsive.
- Durable collection queue: playlists, channel feeds and captured page links support batches of up to 500 entries with persistent UUIDs and replay protection.
- Session recovery: eligible HTTP 401/403/410 responses request current source URLs and origin-scoped browser cookies. Matching content validators allow verified-byte resume without focusing or reloading tabs.
- Desktop workflow: separate approval/progress/settings windows, virtualized history and torrent file lists, creation/start/completion timestamps, category folders, clipboard queueing and cancellable completion actions.
- Browser integration: automatic per-user Native Messaging registration for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Chromium and Firefox; draggable HUD, outside-click panel dismissal and two Firefox compatibility packages.
- Twenty languages: searchable language selection and Arabic/Urdu RTL, with 193 desktop translation keys.

Run the installer, or extract the portable archive and register its bridge in Settings. Load the Chromium extension from its extracted folder through the browser's extension developer mode. Firefox ZIPs are unsigned and can be loaded temporarily through about:debugging; standard Firefox requires Mozilla signing for permanent installation. Browser store publication is separate.
Validation
The published Windows binaries match the locally tested installer and portable runtime. 163 automated tests passed: 100 Rust, 51 shared extension and 12 frontend data tests. Separate native-window, installer/uninstaller, packaged Firefox 120/157, Chromium HUD, adaptive media and real local torrent scenarios passed. Strict TypeScript, Rust formatting and workspace Clippy passed; production npm audit reported zero advisories.
See validation evidence for scenario boundaries and binary identities. Packages are unsigned. Source access and server policy still apply: DRM, CAPTCHA, login challenges and inaccessible opaque streams are not automatically resolved. BitTorrent v2-only metainfo is rejected. Unknown-size finite media uses marked estimates when duration/segment metadata is available.
Flux is MIT-licensed. Bundled dependencies retain their own licenses and notices. The existing 1.7.0 release and downloads remain available.
