Bug Fixes

  • On Windows, the background server starts from hosts that leave an outer Job Object attached after breakaway, instead of rejecting the launch. (openai#48157)
  • On Windows, the background server no longer inherits the launcher's output pipes, so callers that capture codex app-server daemon start output stop waiting once it exits. (openai#48272)
  • On Windows, the code-mode host and local stdio MCP servers no longer open console windows when started from the background server. (openai#48138, openai#48238)
