Highlights since v0.3.0
Fork independence
- Forked from Zackriya-Solutions/meetily as
Hankanman/Meetily-Local - Removed the legacy FastAPI backend (~24K lines) — everything now runs in-process in the Tauri Rust core
Build system
- New
build.sh/dev.shwith auto-detection for CUDA / Vulkan / CPU llama-helpersidecar (llama.cpp) is now built and bundled automatically- AppImage build works end-to-end on modern Fedora (handles CUDA PIC, sherpa-onnx .so resolution, gcc-15 host compiler)
Dependency modernization
- Next.js 14 → 16, React 18 → 19, Tailwind 3 → 4
- Rust MSRV 1.77 → 1.85
- BlockNote editor swapped out for TipTap (with tables, task lists, lucide icons)
- Dropped 16 unused frontend packages and 10 unused Rust crates
Speaker diarization
- Replaced Parakeet with sherpa-onnx for shared linking
- Diarize mic stream in addition to system audio
- Per-speaker name + email
- "Speakers" settings tab to manage voice profiles
- Merge across profiles and merge clusters into profiles
- Inline speaker-chip editor on the transcript
Calendar / ICS
- Full ICS calendar Rust core (schema, parser, fetcher, repository, Tauri commands)
- Calendar settings panel for managing ICS sources
- Auto-link recordings to the current calendar event + manual picker anchored to recording time
calendar_event.jsonsnapshot dropped into each meeting folder
Audio
- Modular audio system (devices / capture / pipeline split)
- Surface PulseAudio monitor sources via
pactlon Linux - Working level meter on the recording page
- Drop near-silent system-audio chunks before Whisper
- Hot-path allocation cleanup in the pipeline
Summaries
- Strip "AI-Generated Title:" prefix leak from generated meeting titles
- Mirror generated summary to
summary.mdin the meeting folder - Size llama context to the actual prompt to avoid CUDA OOM
UI / UX
- Recording-page redesign (hero landing, recording top bar, clickable sidebar pill while recording)
- Sidebar redesign with date-grouped meetings and toggle alignment
- Settings page redesign (vertical-rail layout, unified
SettingsCardprimitive) - Custom Tauri title bar
- Follow OS / GTK color-scheme preference; dark-mode-aware accents
- Lag mitigations: model-picker render storms, listener leaks, post-skeleton content flash, transition cleanup
- Replace browser
confirm()/alert()in the recovery dialog
Cleanup
- Deleted 30 dead files with no inbound imports
- Replaced
lazy_staticwithstd::sync::LazyLock - Tightened error-handling utilities; hoisted shared helpers to
lib/utils
Running the AppImage
chmod +x meetily_0.4.0_amd64.AppImage
./meetily_0.4.0_amd64.AppImage
