Low Strike 1.19

Choose a tag to compare

@HappzGirafe HappzGirafe released this 17 Oct 22:46

New in 1.19

  • Play online. PLAY ONLINE in the main menu: make an online account (a nickname and a password; it works on
    every computer and phone), then join a room, QUICK JOIN, join a private room with its code, or CREATE ROOM
    (map, 1v1 to 5v5, bots, rounds, friendly fire, open to everyone or only with the code). The room's owner starts the
    match and bots fill the free places. No IP addresses, VPN or router settings needed.
  • Voice chat online, as in LAN games (hold V, or open mic), and you can mute a single player (pause menu or
    the room's player list).
  • Back in the game after a dropped connection: the game joins the room again by itself and gets your player back.
  • Friends over the internet: with an online account, find players by nickname, send friend requests, invite
    friends to your room (the invitation waits while they are offline), and see who is Online, In match or Offline.
    Your skins and crosshair and voice settings are saved with the online account.
  • Fair play online: the server checks every move and shot (no running too fast, through walls, or shooting faster
    or straighter than the weapon allows).
  • Phones: typing works on every phone (the nickname, password and other fields open the game's own keyboard),
    and on de_dune you no longer fall through the floor.

Online rooms need version 1.19, and LAN games need the same version on both computers (1.19 and 1.18 cannot play
together). The Android version installs over 1.18 (same signature), so your account and settings stay.

"How to open on Mac.txt" inside the first time) and LowStrike-Android.apk.

Low Strike 1.18

@HappzGirafe HappzGirafe released this 17 Oct 18:12

New in 1.18

  • Phones: typing works. The nickname, password, friend and IP fields open the phone's keyboard. Its Done key logs
    in, creates the account or sends the friend request. Before, the password could not be typed on a phone.
  • Phones: move the buttons. In Settings > TOUCH CONTROLS, drag any button where you want it, tap one to
    change its size, or RESET to put them all back. The layout is saved on the phone.
  • The Uzi has its own model (made in Blender), with the skins working on it too.

The Android version installs over 1.17 (same signature), so your account and settings stay. LAN games work between
1.17 and 1.18.

"How to open on Mac.txt" inside the first time) and LowStrike-Android.apk.

Low Strike 1.17

@HappzGirafe HappzGirafe released this 15 Oct 17:12
6021cdd

New in 1.17

  • Android: Low Strike now runs on Android phones and tablets, with on-screen controls. The left thumb moves (a
    small push walks quietly) and dragging on the right looks around. The buttons are FIRE (drag it to aim while
    shooting), JUMP, CROUCH, R, GUN, SCOPE, PLANT / DEFUSE, DROP, BUY, MIC, TAB and pause. Install
    LowStrike-Android.apk: when Android asks, allow installing apps from your browser or file manager, then tap
    Install.
  • Crosshair like CS2: Settings > CROSSHAIR. Pick the color (or your own with red / green / blue), length,
    thickness, gap, opacity, outline, center dot and T shape, and make it static or dynamic. There is a preview and
    a RESET button.
  • New SMG: Uzi ($1200, both teams): 24/96 rounds, very fast fire, but a big spread.
  • First shot: a gun that has not fired for 3 seconds fires its next shot exactly where you aim (the dynamic
    crosshair closes up to show it). The pump shotgun's pellets are not affected.
  • Bots: every Terrorist bot picks site A or B for itself (50/50), and the bomb goes where its carrier went.

LAN games need 1.17 on every computer and phone (the Uzi changed the weapon list).
iPhone and iPad are not available yet: Apple only lets games in through the App Store.

Downloads: LowStrike-Windows.exe (one file), LowStrike-macOS.zip (Intel + Apple Silicon; see
"How to open on Mac.txt" inside the first time) and LowStrike-Android.apk.

Low Strike 1.16

Choose a tag to compare

@HappzGirafe HappzGirafe released this 10 Oct 17:46

New in 1.16: friends

  • FRIENDS in the main menu (it needs an account): type a friend's nickname and click SEND REQUEST; they get
    ACCEPT / DECLINE, and once accepted you are on each other's list.
  • See who is Online (green) or Offline. The menu button shows how many friends are online, or that a
    friend request is waiting.
  • Settings > Online status (friends): Hidden - nobody sees when you are online, and while it is on you cannot see
    your friends' status either.
  • REMOVE (click twice) takes a friend off your list; they stop seeing you online too.

Online means the friend has the game open on the same WiFi or network (like LAN games: there is no server), and
a request only reaches a friend whose game is open at the time. Windows may ask again whether Low Strike may use the
network, and a Mac may ask about devices on your local network: click Allow. Friends need 1.16 on both computers;
LAN games still work between 1.15 and 1.16.

Downloads: LowStrike-Windows.exe (one file) and LowStrike-macOS.zip (Intel + Apple Silicon,
see "How to open on Mac.txt" inside the zip the first time).

Low Strike 1.15

@HappzGirafe HappzGirafe released this 05 Oct 10:51

New in 1.15

  • Three new maps made in Blender, next to de_dune: Village, Halloween (a haunted village at night) and
    Industrial (warehouse with crates, containers and a three-room B site with two entrances). Pick the map in the
    menu; in LAN games everyone plays the host's map.
  • Accounts: at the start, log in or sign up with a nickname and a password (saved on this computer). Your skins
    stay with your account. An account unlocks the Halloween map, the RPG Web skin and Extreme bots.
    Each nickname can only be taken once (accounts live on each computer, there is no online server).
  • Animations: players and bots walk and run, crouch, jump, and fall over when they die. Bots sometimes crouch
    while they hold an angle.
  • Sell your guns: in your spawn, during the first 30 seconds of a round, the bottom of the buy menu (B) sells
    your own guns back (not the knife): the full price in the round you bought it, half the price after that.
    Works in LAN games too.
  • New gun models for the Glock-18, USP, AK-47, Desert Eagle and pump shotgun.

The game is now called Low Strike (since the first 1.15 build)

  • New name everywhere: the menu, the window title, the Mac app (Low Strike.app) and the downloads.
  • The game keeps its settings in a new place: the first time, Settings start from the defaults again. Windows and
    macOS may also ask again for the network (LAN games) and the microphone (voice chat): click Allow.

LAN games need everyone on 1.15 (older versions cannot join).

Downloads: LowStrike-Windows.exe (one file) and LowStrike-macOS.zip (Intel + Apple Silicon,
see "How to open on Mac.txt" inside the zip the first time).

Desert Strike v1.14 - Window mode, unlimited FPS, open mic

Choose a tag to compare

@HappzGirafe HappzGirafe released this 03 Oct 22:04

Fullscreen or window, unlimited FPS, open mic.

  • Settings > Display: Fullscreen or Window (the window can be resized; the game remembers your choice).
  • Settings > Frame limit: 30, 60, 120 or Unlimited.
  • Settings > When the others hear you: Hold V or Open mic. With Open mic your voice is sent
    whenever you speak, no key needed (use headphones so the others do not hear themselves).
  • During a LAN match the microphone state is always shown under the radar: "Hold V to talk", "You" with a
    level bar while talking, "Open mic", or what is wrong with the microphone. If "Hold V to talk" does not
    change to "You" when you hold V, use Open mic.
  • Quiet microphones are turned up automatically.
  • Settings are now in two columns: Display & graphics, Voice & controls.

Both computers should use this version (1.14).

see "How to open on Mac.txt" inside the zip the first time).

Desert Strike v1.13 - Voice chat on Mac

Choose a tag to compare

@HappzGirafe HappzGirafe released this 03 Oct 21:26

Voice chat fixes for Mac.

  • The game now asks for microphone permission properly and tries every microphone and sound setting until
    real sound arrives.
  • Settings > TEST MICROPHONE: a bar that moves when you speak, so you can check the microphone without a
    second computer.
  • Holding V always shows "You" with a level bar. If the microphone does not work, the game says why and
    where to turn it on (on a Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone > Desert Strike, then restart
    the game).
  • Smoother voice over WiFi.

Both computers need this version (1.13) for voice chat.

Downloads: DesertStrike-Windows.exe (one file) and DesertStrike-macOS.zip (Intel + Apple Silicon,
see "How to open on Mac.txt" inside the zip the first time).

Desert Strike v1.12 - Voice chat

Choose a tag to compare

@HappzGirafe HappzGirafe released this 03 Oct 18:53

Voice chat in LAN games.

  • During a LAN match, hold V to talk. Everyone in the game hears you; the names of the people talking
    appear under the radar ("You" while you talk).
  • The microphone only starts the first time you press V in a LAN game (macOS asks for permission once) and
    stops when the LAN game ends. Settings > Voice chat in LAN games turns it off.
  • Fix: a LAN game now keeps running when its window is not in front. Before, a client in the background
    dropped out after 8 seconds and a host in the background froze the game for everyone.

Both computers need this version (1.12) for voice chat.

Downloads: DesertStrike-Windows.exe (one file) and DesertStrike-macOS.zip (Intel + Apple Silicon,
see "How to open on Mac.txt" inside the zip the first time).

Desert Strike v1.11 - Karambit Z 180

Choose a tag to compare

@HappzGirafe HappzGirafe released this 03 Oct 17:28

Karambit turned 180 degrees on Z only.

  • The karambit knife skin is now held turned 180 degrees on Z (no X or Y turn): ring at the top,
    blade underneath in first person.

Downloads: DesertStrike-Windows.exe (one file) and DesertStrike-macOS.zip (Intel + Apple Silicon,
see "How to open on Mac.txt" inside the zip the first time).

Desert Strike v1.10 - Karambit X/Z 180

Choose a tag to compare

@HappzGirafe HappzGirafe released this 03 Oct 17:06

Karambit turned 180 degrees on X and Z.

  • The karambit knife skin is now held turned 180 degrees on X and 180 degrees on Z (no Y turn),
    with its curved blade pointing up in first person.

Downloads: DesertStrike-Windows.exe (one file) and DesertStrike-macOS.zip (Intel + Apple Silicon,
see "How to open on Mac.txt" inside the zip the first time).
