Articulate 0.7.0: edit-time hook for Claude Code and Codex

Articulate 0.7.0 checks prose at edit time in Claude Code and Codex. After the model writes or edits a prose file, the source plugin's advisory hook names the numbers, links, quotes, citations, modals, scope words, negations and names that the edit dropped, added or changed, and lists style findings in the new text. The hook reads only the hook event, opens no file or connection, starts no program and never blocks the edit. Set ARTICULATE_EDIT_HOOK=off to turn it off. The package adds an articulate-edit-hook command for other hosts that run command hooks.

Detector rules stay the published v0.5.2 rules. This release changes no finding, and the release workflow's retention gate checks the ruleset fingerprint before it builds.

Install: pip install articulate-writing==0.7.0. The source plugin, Windows x64 native ZIP and MCPB packages and their checksum files are attached below by the release workflow.

Validation: 972 tests passed with 11 skipped on Windows under Python 3.12 and 3.9; 11 of 11 cross-platform PR checks passed; plugin smoke runs passed 16 of 16 for the claude, codex and portable hosts on Windows and Linux. On a pre-registered synthetic set the hook names 16 of 19 critical changes and stays quiet on 7 of 8 ordinary edits.

Known limits:

• On Windows the hook needs Codex 0.145.0 or newer. Earlier Codex escapes the quotes in the hook command, so the hook does not run, though the edit still goes ahead.
• The hook misses a changed file path, an added intensifier and swapped subjects.
• No live Claude Code or Codex session fired the hook end to end before release, and the tests do not show that a model acts on the advice.
• The detector changes on main stay under their fairness hold: releases ship from release/0.5.x, and none of main's held detector work is carried into this line.
