  • Opt-in navigation recall: AgentMemory.navigate walks a deterministic topic outline and ranks only the memories it reaches, and the receipt records every branch scored and followed. verify_navigation replays a receipt from the rows. On the fixed 50-query bench it held recall@5 at 0.84 against flat recall's 0.86 while ranking 42 of 120 memories per query. A random-outline control over 20 seeds holds recall about as well, so the walk earns the gain and the topic structure is not shown to. Details and the bar set before the run: docs/navigation-recall.md.
  • The plugin folder and the source ZIP's server/src now carry only the modules the client entry point can import, found by a static walk of every import (scripts/client_closure.py): 37 of 44. The command-line modules and the optional model extractor, which names OPENAI_API_KEY, are no longer shipped there. A test drives every tool from the folder alone so a missing module fails the suite.
  • The Claude plugin folder now carries the server code under client-plugin/server/src, so a directory install that receives only that folder starts. python scripts/build_client_package.py --sync-vendored rewrites the copy from src/, and a test fails when it drifts. The launcher no longer looks outside the plugin folder; a missing copy stops with one line asking you to reinstall. Tests launch the folder alone with the exact Claude command and check the directory's file count and size limits.
  • Clearer descriptions: the skill now says what Mneme does and when to use it, and mneme.remember says it saves only the turns the user asks to keep. The client README and PRIVACY.md gain a "Files read" list covering the database, origin recheck source files and the doctor's .git checks.
  • The environment variable list in the client README and PRIVACY.md now comes from a run of every tool under a recorder of environment reads. It separates Mneme's own read (MNEME_STATE) from the Python standard library's (COLUMNS, LINES, LANG, LANGUAGE, LC_ALL, LC_MESSAGES, the home folder variables the doctor tool uses, and on Windows with Python 3.13.14 APPDATA, PYTHONUSERBASE and _PYTHON_PROJECT_BASE from loading ctypes). A test holds the list to a live trace.
  • The Claude plugin manifest carries directory listing fields: display name, keywords, homepage, repository, documentation, support, privacy and terms links, and a 1024 px icon.
  • Claude Code now asks for the state database path and for Allow memory changes (off by default) when the plugin is enabled. The Claude .mcp.json passes them as ${user_config.*} values in place of the ${MNEME_STATE} environment placeholder. Portable and Codex manifests are unchanged.
  • The client README and PRIVACY.md gain a "What this plugin runs and handles" section covering hooks, the exact launch command, network, files written and environment variables, plus a data and network table. Both are traced from the client server's code, and tests hold the launch command and the no-network claim to the code.
