v2.2.0 — MCP Tools: Fetch, Memory, Filesystem
What's New
Three new built-in MCP tools, configured during relay onboard:
Fetch MCP
- Read any web page as clean markdown
- The AI can fetch documentation, articles, API responses, and changelogs
- Requires uvx (Python package runner) — the wizard checks and offers to install it
Memory MCP
- Persistent knowledge graph across conversations
- The AI remembers your preferences, project facts, decisions, and conventions
- Stored in
~/.relay/memory.jsonl(respects--devmode)
Filesystem MCP
- Read and write files outside the current project directory
- Restricted to user-configured directories for safety
- Useful for cross-project operations, reading logs, writing output files
Onboarding Improvements
- OpenCode detection — Step 1 now checks if OpenCode is installed and offers
npm i -g opencode-ai@latest - Reorganized wizard — 5 clear steps: OpenCode → Bot Token → User ID → MCP Tools → Voice
- Dependency checks — warns about missing
uvxfor Fetch MCP with install option - Cross-platform — works on Linux, macOS, and Windows
Other Changes
