v0.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@HasanJahidul HasanJahidul released this 11 May 06:00

Tooling + quality pass.

  • All 5 tools now declare annotations (read-only hints; kill_server flagged destructive + non-idempotent) and JSON output schemas; responses carry structuredContent.
  • Tool descriptions expanded with parameter semantics, dry-run/error behavior, and platform notes.
  • GitHub Actions CI (build + unit tests + end-to-end MCP harness).

Install: npm install -g localhost-mcp

v0.1.0 — initial release

Choose a tag to compare

@HasanJahidul HasanJahidul released this 09 May 13:39

First release of localhost-mcp — MCP server that inspects, manages, and kills local dev servers.

Install

npm install -g localhost-mcp
claude mcp add --scope user localhost -- localhost-mcp

Or download `localhost-mcp-0.1.0.mcpb` below and import into any MCP-bundle-aware client (Claude Desktop, etc).

Five tools

  • `list_dev_servers` — full inventory: port, pid, framework, project, uptime, memory, cpu
  • `port_info` — single port lookup
  • `kill_server` — safe kill by pid or port. Dry-run by default; confirm=true to execute. Refuses pid<1000. SIGTERM with 5s SIGKILL escalation
  • `find_zombies` — abandoned dev servers (uptime>6h, cpu<1%, mem>100MB). Excludes IDE/LSP/agent/DB noise (vscode-server, language-servers, MCPs, postgres, sidekiq, etc) by default. Pass `include_excluded=true` to override
  • `port_conflict` — diagnose EADDRINUSE: blocking server + 5 free alternatives nearby

Frameworks detected

next.js, vite, nuxt, remix, astro, webpack-dev-server, esbuild, create-react-app, express, fastify, koa, hono, rails, django, flask, fastapi, uvicorn, gunicorn, deno, bun, php-builtin, jekyll, hugo. Falls back to package.json sniff for generic node servers.

Platforms

  • macOS — full support
  • Linux — full support
  • Windows — basic port scan only (limited cwd/framework detection)

Quality

  • 30 unit tests + 10 e2e MCP-stdio JSON-RPC checks (all passing)
  • TypeScript strict mode, Node 18+
  • Zero runtime cloud calls; everything local
