[2.3.7] - 2026-03-11

Added

  • Bedrock Marketplace permissions: Processing/admin Lambda roles include aws-marketplace:Subscribe and ViewSubscriptions via BedrockMarketplaceAdminPolicy. Runtime request-path roles (QueryKB, SearchKB, AppSyncResolver) receive only ViewSubscriptions via BedrockMarketplacePolicy. Third-party model agreements (Anthropic Claude, etc.) must be accepted by an admin or during the document processing pipeline — public-facing endpoints do not have Subscribe permissions.
  • Expanded model options: Added Nova 2 Lite and Nova Pro as options for OCR, chat primary, metadata extraction, and filter generation. Nova 2 Lite offers a cost-effective multimodal alternative with better reasoning than Nova Lite.

Fixed

  • Metadata word tokens lost on name-heavy documents: When a list metadata field (e.g., people_mentioned) had many multi-word entries, the original full phrases consumed the entire 10-item AWS STRING_LIST budget, silently dropping all word-level tokens. For example, a document with 10 people stored ["dwight sheldon tillotson", "charles m. tillotson", ...] but never "dwight" or "tillotson", making $eq filters on individual names fail. Now prioritizes single-word tokens over multi-word phrases, preserving insertion order from the source list so tokens from earlier (more important) names take priority.
  • Remove unnecessary AWS::S3::Bucket VectorBucket resource: The template created a regular S3 bucket for vector storage, but actual vectors are stored in an S3 Vectors bucket (different AWS service) created by the KnowledgeBase custom resource. The regular bucket was always empty and unused. When manually deleted, it caused CloudFormation update failures (S3Control 404 on every subsequent stack update). Replaced !Ref VectorBucket with a constructed name string, removed unused regular S3 IAM permissions (s3:ListBucket, s3:GetObject, s3:PutObject) from KnowledgeBaseRole and S3CrudPolicy from three Lambda functions. Bedrock KB with S3 Vectors only requires s3vectors: permissions per AWS documentation.

Docs

  • Bedrock model access troubleshooting: New section explaining Marketplace agreement requirements for third-party models, with diagnostic commands and resolution steps.
  • Updated model selection guide: Expanded recommendations table with Nova 2 Lite placement across all use cases.

Migration Note

  • Existing deployments update cleanly — CloudFormation deregisters the regular S3 bucket (DeletionPolicy: Retain) without deleting it. The only incompatibility is if a user manually deleted the regular S3 vector bucket outside of CloudFormation; in that case, recreate the empty bucket before deploying this update.
