Welcome to the BlockWorld wiki!
This page details the controls for BlockWorld, a browser-based 3D block game inspired by Minecraft. Learn how to navigate the main menu, move the player, interact with the world, and manage menus. These controls are designed to be intuitive for both new and experienced players.
The main menu appears when the game starts, offering the following options:
- "Start" Button: Click to begin the game. The world generates, and player controls become active.
- "Exit" Button: Click to reload the page and exit the game.
During gameplay, use the keyboard and mouse to explore and build in the infinite block world. Below are the available controls:
- Mouse Movement: Move the mouse to rotate the camera (look around). Vertical rotation is limited to 90 degrees (up/down).
- Left Click: Activates pointer lock, allowing mouse movement to control the camera freely.
-
WASD Keys:
- W: Move forward (relative to camera direction).
- A: Move left.
- S: Move backward.
- D: Move right.
- Spacebar: Jump, allowing the player to climb one-block height differences.
- Shift: Sneak mode. Reduces movement speed, lowers the camera height, and prevents falling off edges.
- Right Click: Place a dirt block at the targeted location.
-
Esc Key: Opens the pause menu with the following options:
- "Resume": Return to gameplay.
- "Back to Menu": Return to the main menu, ending the current game session.
- Ensure pointer lock is engaged (via left click) for smooth camera control. If the mouse cursor is visible, click to re-engage.
- Sneak mode (Shift) is useful for precise movement near edges or when placing blocks carefully.
- The game currently supports placing dirt blocks only, with block-breaking functionality planned for future updates.
Explore the infinite block world with these controls and enjoy your BlockWorld adventure! 🚀
