Highlights

  • Renames the plugin to Annotations Everywhere with the new ID annotations-everywhere.
  • Adds direct recovery of orphaned PDF annotation groups from the vault-wide annotation manager.
  • Adds fuzzy target-PDF selection, page-range validation, and lossless merging when recovering annotations.
  • Adds the public README, MIT license, and marketplace-ready metadata.
  • Uses .annotations-everywhere/ as the default annotation directory for new installations while retaining legacy-path discovery.

Existing installations

The plugin ID changed from margin-notes-hz to annotations-everywhere. Manual or BRAT users upgrading from 0.49.0 should disable the old plugin, install this release under .obsidian/plugins/annotations-everywhere/, and copy the old plugin's data.json if they want to retain plugin settings. Vault annotation files are separate from the plugin folder and are not modified by the rename.
