This release fixes a "DMM API error (result_code=203)" that could appear when you create a shortcut, if the selected account's saved login had expired.

Highlights & Fixes

• "Create Shortcut" no longer fails with DMM API error (result_code=203):
  • Creating a shortcut used to fire a live DMM launch request just to read the game's title. That request fails with result_code=203 ("refresh token is invalid") whenever the selected account's saved login token has expired — which commonly happens after the DMM Game Player client updates. The token is only refreshed when you actually launch the game, never during shortcut creation, so making a shortcut could error out (and pop a misleading message) even though launching the game still worked.
  • Shortcut creation now reads the game icon from your local DMM install and names the shortcut after the filename you type — with no live login call. The error is gone, shortcut creation works even with an expired/offline session, and your saved token is left untouched. Token refresh still happens normally the moment you launch the game.
  • As a side benefit, this removes a launch request that was being sent outside of an actual, user-initiated game launch.

Note

• If clicking a shortcut shows a login/expired-session error when the game tries to start, that account's saved DMM login has expired. Re-import that account (Account tab → import) to refresh it, then launch again.

v6.3.40 Release

This release stops the DMM Game Player window from popping up (and hanging blank) when the launcher refreshes an expired login through your browser.

Highlights & Fixes

• No more stray, blank DMM Game Player window during browser re-login:
  • When a shortcut launch needed to refresh an expired session via the browser, the DMM login "success" page would redirect to dmmgameplayer://, which opened the DMM Game Player client — often as a blank window you had to close by hand. The game itself launched fine; the window was just noise.
  • The launcher now blocks the dmmgameplayer:// external-protocol launch at the browser level (Chrome/Edge/Firefox), in addition to the existing page-stop guard. The success page can no longer pop the DMM client. Your game launch is unaffected.

v6.3.39 Release

This release is internal security hardening for the local logging and credential-storage paths. No user-facing behavior changes.

Highlights & Fixes

• Log redaction now covers all log outputs:
  • The credential-redaction filter is now attached to every log handler (file, console, debug window), not just the root logger. Previously, log lines emitted by submodules could reach the log file before redaction ran. Tokens, cookies, and hardware identifiers are now stripped on every output.
• Log-injection hardening:
  • Carriage-return / line-feed / tab characters in logged values are now encoded, so data from external sources can't forge fake log lines.
• DPAPI calls hardened:
  • Windows credential encrypt/decrypt now passes CRYPTPROTECT_UI_FORBIDDEN, ensuring no unexpected prompt can appear, and continues to use the current-user scope only (never machine scope).

This is a small maintenance release. It relaxes how often the app checks for updates — this is a stable desktop tool, not a browser, so a daily check was unnecessary.

• Update check is now weekly instead of daily:
  • The notify-only update check now reuses its cached result for 7 days (was 24 hours). Releases are infrequent, so this is plenty to surface a new version while cutting background GitHub API traffic. You can still disable the check entirely in Settings → Advanced.

v6.3.36 Release

This is a maintenance release. It makes in-place updates smoother: the installer now closes the running launcher for you instead of stopping with a "could not close applications" prompt.

• Updating no longer stalls on "Setup was unable to automatically close all applications":
  • When you run the installer while the launcher is still open, Setup now closes the running app automatically and continues. Previously the wizard could stall, because the packaged (PyInstaller, windowless) app did not respond to the Windows Restart Manager's graceful-close request.
  • This forced close is safe: account switching is registry-only and the launcher restores its baseline on the next start (crash-recovery path), so an interrupted session never corrupts account state.
