Ghost touches/presses on Down Key

X3. Using v1.2.1

When I go anywhere where there is a list of options, the hover-select just goes down the list, and I press "Up," it just goes against it and continues to go down.

Edit: I've formatted my SD Card. Tried CrossNote's previous version (v1.2.0) and that one seemed to work fine. Also tried CrossInk's latest, it wasn't doing it either.

Hey, thanks for reporting this, and for including details and the video, its very useful.

I went looking and checked every file that I think could be causing this:

freeink-sdk , lib/hal/HalGPIO.cpp , src/MappedInputManager.cpp , src/util/ButtonNavigator.{h,cpp} , src/SettingsList.h , src/CrossPointSettings.h , src/activities/network/NearbyBookTransferActivity.cpp

All unchanged from CrossInk 1.5.0. Same SDK commit, 1ff0202.

CrossNotes touches three screens, none of them affect navigation:

HomeActivity.cpp - adds "Notes and Bookmarks" and "Notes Connect" to the menu
SettingsActivity.cpp - one line, so the System tab reads "CrossNotes 1.2.1" instead of "CrossInk 1.2.1"
CrossPointWebServerActivity.cpp - makes the QR code open the notes page directly

Everything else we add is notes and highlights: NoteStore, TagPickerActivity, ClippingListModel, NotesListLayout, and the web page. None of it runs on Settings, Home or File Transfer.

1.2.0 to 1.2.1 Does not touch input code, same SDK commit. And I can't reproduce it on my X4 with 1.2.1.

In short, I looked pretty hard and I can't see where CrossNotes itself could be causing this issue.

One question: Which CrossInk version did you test, 1.5.0 or a 1.5.1 RC? CrossNotes 1.2.1 is built on 1.5.0. The 1.5.1 RCs rework input handling heavily. InputManager.cpp changes about 1,200 lines. If you tested a 1.5.1 RC, it could have to do with that.

On 1.2.0 working: was that session shorter than the 1.2.1 one? If the problem only surfaces after some time of use, a quick check wouldn't catch it. Worth reflashing 1.2.0, using it as long as you used 1.2.1, then going back to 1.2.1.

If not, unfortunately the only idea I have left is that it could be a hardware issue with your buttons.

Sorry I haven't been very helpful here. I looked and could not find how CrossNotes could be causing this.
