1 - Function of the jumper, 2 - how to use with 4 legged clock oscillator

Hello, I have the yellow kit shown in the readme, and have 2 questions:
1 - there's a jumper to the left of the terminal block; in the "high" position, the kit measures the frequency of the oscillator; in the bottom position (as in the picture), it displays zero; what is this mode, is it a counter? And how does it work? If I press the button the display stays at zero.
2 - Can this be used to measure 4 legged clock oscillators, and if yes, how?

EDIT also noticed it measures my MHz oscillators correctly, but when using a 32KHz oscillator, displays remains at 0.

You measure the frequency of a two-legged crystal (xtal) device plugged into the connector named "Crystaltester"?

Nope, it is the TTL level input to the frequency counter, you can connect e.g. a four-legged oscillator output to the screw inputs. (Please note that there are the 2-legged xtals that do not have active electronic and need an external oscillator and the 4-legged integrated oscillators that produce a frequency when you provide power - check the data sheets).

You do not have oscillators, these devices are simple xtals (w/o oscillator electronic).
This is caused by the oscillator circuit on the counter that works only for xtals with frequency >= 1 MHz.

Yes, that's right, into the tulip DIP header. My kit came with a 2 legged 4MHz crystal (so that's a resonator?) to test, it works fine, and all my other 2 legged (resonators?) test fine in the DIP socket as well, except the 32KHz ones.

This is caused by the oscillator circuit on the counter that works only for xtals with frequency >= 1 MHz.
