Description of issue

After brew install --cask claude-code when I type claude I get an error message

This is likely not a bug with Homebrew, but an issue (possibly temporary) with GateKeeper on your machine.
Have you tried restarting your computer and trying again?

I would suggest doing brew uninstall claude-code and then brew install claude-code.

I cannot replicate this issue locally.

I worked around it by "Allow Anyway" in "Security & Privacy" and doing xattr -d com.apple.quarantine $(which claude)

Now after uninstall, restart, reinstall it still works - so yeah could have been a glitch locally. Strange though!

Getting this same issue in latest version of claude. it was working fine for few months. I have used on multiple versions.

Had a similar issue just now; a bare reinstall fixed it.

this command helped me: sudo xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Claude.app

It worked after uninstalling and installing claude using brew uninstall claude-code and then brew install claude-code

Unsure if it's 2.1.197 or if homebrew migrated me away from the stable channel to the beta, but that's what caused it for me.

After a brew upgrade i had to run brew uninstall claude-code@latest then brew install claude-code and that resolved it for me
