Advanced Usage
PLACEHOLDER - features for better interop with World Partition are in progress.
You can create reusable scripts in the content folder as normal assets. These are editable in the exact same way as level scripts. You can place references to level actors in these scripts, but it would normally be discouraged. Normally, in a content script, references to actors should be passed in as variables.

Any variables which are set to instance-editable can be set on the script instance (this is somewhat like normal blueprints). This is mostly intended for reusable content asset scripts.
Create some variables in the script and set them as instance-editable, and then assign them on the script in the level:

Setting input variables on a script component in the level
By default, Bango will destroy scripts that stop running (by watching for running latent actions such as Delay nodes). If you have a script which needs to stay alive, such as to wait for an external event, you can control this:
- Edit the script's class settings
- Turn on
Prevent Auto Destroy - Manually run
Finish Scriptto allow a script to be garbage collected
The blueprint compiler will warn you if you turn on Prevent Auto Destroy and forget to place any Finish Destroy nodes.
Caution
Because running scripts are not serialized, you should not rely on this for long-running things that might span across save points. You will not be able to save/load the execution state of a running Bango Script! Despite that, this feature might be useful for e.g. a room puzzle where there was a save game before entering the room, you must solve multiple things before being allowed to progress out of the room, and there will be another save point only after exiting the room.

Setting up a script to persist beyond its own Start Event function
You can customize the level viewport billboards of scripts. This is dynamically async-generated on startup and cached; multiple scripts using the same billboard customization will use the same texture resource.

PLACEHOLDER (planned future feature)
- Bango contains no Project Settings.
- There is an Editor Settings category containing some basic QoL settings.
- There is a custom viewport show flag:
Developer > Bango Scripts. Disabling this will disable viewport features.
