v0.1.1 beta — true 16:9, fill screen, frame interpolation
Beta. Expect bugs. Windows 10/11 x64 only. Thanks to everyone who tried v0.1.0 and reported back.
What's new
- True 16:9. The game now really draws in widescreen. In v0.1.0 it always drew 4:3, and "Force 16:9" only stretched that image (round things looked oval). Fixed by answering the game's widescreen query (
SCGetAspectRatio) from the video settings. - Fill screen (no black strips). The game draws its image inside a black border at the top and bottom. On a CRT TV that edge was hidden; on a monitor it showed up as two black strips. The new FILL SCREEN option (VIDEO tab, on by default) cuts that border off, so the image fills the window. On a 16:9 screen the image ends up 8% taller than on the Wii; turn it off if you prefer the exact proportions.
- Frame interpolation (experimental). FRAME INTERPOLATION (VIDEO tab): No / 120 / 180 FPS. The game still runs at 60 and the in-between images are generated for 120 Hz+ screens. On a Radeon RX 5500 at 1x, 120 FPS took the GPU from about 30% to 55%, and 180 FPS to 65%. Fast motion may show glitches; please report what you see.
Install / update
- Download
MLB-Power-Pros-2008-Setup-v0.1.1.zipand unzip it into a folder of yours (not Program Files). - Open
MLBPowerPros2008-Setup.exe, press CHOOSE DISC and pick your copy (ISO, NKit, RVZ, WBFS, WIA, GCZ or CISO). - Press INSTALL (about 4–5 minutes on a 12-thread CPU), then PLAY.
Coming from v0.1.0? After installing, copy UserData\NAND and UserData\ModSaves (your saves) and the mods folder from the old MLB Power Pros 2008\Game folder into the new one, then delete the old install.
The Blender stadium add-on is unchanged (powerpros_stadium-0.4.0.zip, attached again). Everything else is as in v0.1.0, including the recommended roster and uniform mods.
Known issues
- Tested mainly on one PC (Ryzen 5 5500 + Radeon RX 5500).
- One player hears the commentator and PA play wrong or broken lines after the first inning; not reproduced yet. If it happens to you, please open an issue with your CPU, GPU and
UserData\Logs\<latest>\console.log. - New stadiums appear only in Exhibition, and the walls generated for them don't follow the visible stands yet.
- The game can occasionally hang at startup: close it and open it again.

Beta. Puede tener errores. Solo Windows 10/11 de 64 bits.
Novedades:
- 16:9 real.
INTERPOLACIÓN (pestaña VIDEO): No / 120 / 180 FPS.
Instalar o actualizar: descarga MLB-Power-Pros-2008-Setup-v0.1.1.zip, descomprímelo, abre MLBPowerPros2008-Setup.exe, elige tu disco y pulsa INSTALAR.
