Choose a tag to compare

@HosseinSKR HosseinSKR released this 14 Oct 09:37

Out-Switch 0.6.0 fixes tray controls and adds service recovery and in-app updates.

Changes

  • Reliable tray Open, Hide and Exit, keyboard activation, and tray restoration after Explorer restarts.
  • Windows restarts the service after unexpected termination; the desktop reconnects and restores your saved rules.
  • Startup update checks plus Check for updates in Settings and the tray menu.
  • Download progress, cancellation, SHA-256 verification, and an explicit Install update button.
  • Cleaner status details and consistent Settings cards.
  • Corrected MSI shortcut and a manual Start service button.

Install

Close the old desktop app, then run Out-Switch-0.6.0-x64.msi. This first upgrade is manual because 0.5.0 did not contain the updater. Saved settings are retained. Service recovery takes effect after installing this version.

Windows 10 2004+ / Windows 11, Intel or AMD x64.

Downloads

  • x64.msi — recommended installer
  • test-bundle.zip — installer, application, source, licenses and instructions
  • source.zip — matching source
  • SHA256SUMS.txt — checksums

Validation

Windows checks passed: all 34 tests, MSI validation, installation, forced service termination and automatic recovery, authenticated reconnection, signed-driver loading and uninstall.

Locally: 32 tests, real tray open/hide/keyboard/exit, GitHub discovery/download progress, checksum verification and rejection of an invalid installer checksum passed. Hosted installation tests use MSVC; these release downloads use the locally built GNU binaries, with verified embedded payloads and desktop checks.

This remains a preview. Live multi-adapter routing and rate accuracy need further testing. The driver is signed; app/MSI publisher signing remains pending. Update checks contact GitHub at startup; downloading and installation require your choice.

@HosseinSKR HosseinSKR released this 13 Oct 17:11

Out-Switch 0.5.0 is a Windows x64 desktop app for choosing network connections per executable, monitoring traffic and testing ping from each adapter.

Downloads

  • Out-Switch-0.5.0-x64.msi: Windows installer. Recommended for normal use.
  • Out-Switch-0.5.0-test-bundle.zip: installer, complete app folder, source archive, licenses and instructions.
  • Out-Switch-0.5.0-source.zip: matching versioned source package.
  • Out-Switch-0.5.0-SHA256SUMS.txt: checksums for the downloads.

Added in 0.5.0

  • Network Control ON by default for fresh settings; upgrades preserve saved settings.
  • Persistent app library with first-launch scanning, Add application search/rescan and Browse files.
  • Dashboard app pinning and unpinning; removal clears the app's rules in every profile without uninstalling it.
  • Hide/Show inline ping tests for Cloudflare, Google and Shecan.
  • Traffic graph hover details with sample speeds and adapter byte counters.

Includes the installed-service identity fix, app icons, signed WinDivert networking component, local TCP/UDP relay, upload/download limits and DSCP priority markings.

Install

Close an older copy using Exit desktop app. Install the MSI, open Out-Switch from Start, choose a network for an app, and restart that app. If upgrading with Network Control previously OFF, switch it ON once.

Requires Windows 10 2004+ / Windows 11 on Intel or AMD x64. No separate language runtime installation is needed.

Validation and current limits

This is a prerelease/test build. 29 focused tests passed; installer payloads, permissions, ZIP integrity and desktop layout were checked. Two Windows integration tests were excluded locally because the build environment denied access. The user confirmed the prior installed-service connection fix.

Live TCP/UDP routing, simultaneous adapter isolation, bandwidth accuracy and full MSI install/upgrade/repair/uninstall remain unverified for this version. Driver loading was denied with Windows error 5 in the build environment. The driver is signed; the application and MSI are not publisher-signed. DSCP priority requests depend on network/router support. See docs/VALIDATION.md and docs/RELEASE.md.
