Release list
LinkPilot 4.6.0 (updates by themselves, keyword rules, Ask every time) + Android 0.10.0
New in LinkPilot 4.6.0 (Windows)
- Updates by themselves — LinkPilot checks GitHub on its own (on by default; switch on the About & updates tab). When there is a new version, a banner says so: Update downloads LinkPilotSetup-.exe, installs it and starts LinkPilot again. Your settings and link log are kept.
- LinkPilotSetup-4.6.0.exe — a new installer: install, update and uninstall in one window, no administrator rights.
- Easier app rules — Add apps… now also lists the apps that opened the most links, the programs running now and every program in your Start menu, and suggests apps as you type. Apps that open links through a Windows helper (like NetBird) are now recognised.
- Easier address rules — the sites you opened, with how often, and suggestions as you type: your sites first, then popular ones.
- Keyword rules — send links whose address has a word (whole words only), with a preview of which sites it would catch.
- Ask every time — a category that shows a small window for each link: pick where it opens (sorted by name, most used or recent), or tick Remember for this site.
- Smart queue — Next goes back to the browser you used before, like Alt+Tab.
- Cleaner links — 314 known tracking parts (was 110) and 34 redirects skipped (was 15).
- Faster tabs, a short guide after setup (and again from About), and a small redesign.
Install / update — download LinkPilotSetup-4.6.0.exe and run it. LinkPilot 4.5.0 can also press Update now in the app. Or the one command in PowerShell:
irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Husarp/linkpilot/main/get.ps1 | iexLinkPilot for Android 0.10.0
- Updates by itself — checks GitHub when you open it (switch in About), shows a banner, downloads the update in the app and hands it to Android to install. The first time, Android asks to let LinkPilot install apps. The app now uses the internet, only for this.
- Keyword rules, suggestions as you type, smart queue for the Next tile and widget, the same cleaner links as Windows, and a short guide after setup.
Download LinkPilot-Android-0.10.0.apk on your phone and open it — it installs over the earlier versions. This one time it is by hand; later versions update from inside the app.

LinkPilot 4.5.0 (icons on the Rules tab) + Android 0.9.2
New in LinkPilot 4.5.0 (Windows)
- Icons on the Rules tab — an app rule shows its app's icon, and Goes to profile shows the browser's icon as that profile shows it (Brave, Chrome and Edge with the profile's picture). A rule knows only the program's file name, so LinkPilot looks for the program in Windows' list of installed programs, the programs running now and the Start menu — in the background; a program it cannot find shows no icon.
One command — in PowerShell:
irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Husarp/linkpilot/main/get.ps1 | iexFrom the files — download LinkPilot-4.5.0.zip, unzip it into a folder you will keep, double-click Install.cmd. Or press Update now in the app.
LinkPilot for Android 0.9.2
- + App rule opens at once — the apps of both profiles, with names and icons, are read once in the background.
- A much bigger app list — the window is taller and the list fills it; Open them in is a one-line drop-down with each browser's icon.
- Icons — Rules show the app's icon and the browser's icon; the Log shows the browser's icon.
Download LinkPilot-Android-0.9.2.apk on your phone and open it — it installs over 0.8.1 and later (in both profiles, if you have it in both). Steps in the README, Install on Android.

LinkPilot for Android 0.9.0 (one LinkPilot for both profiles) + Windows 4.4.2
LinkPilot for Android 0.9.0 — one LinkPilot decides for both profiles
For phones with a work profile (Island, or a work phone's profile):
- Set everything up in one place. Make LinkPilot the default browser in the work profile too, and the copy there only passes each link tapped in a work app — with the app it came from — to LinkPilot in your personal profile. Its categories, rules and link log then cover work apps as well.
- App rules can name work apps — Links from an app lists them too, marked (work) with the work badge. Address rules now also cover links tapped in work apps.
- Open Island — where LinkPilot is still missing in the work profile, a button opens Island to clone it (tap LinkPilot › Clone).
- A new rule starts on the live category, not the first one in the list.
Download LinkPilot-Android-0.9.0.apk on your phone and open it — it installs over 0.8.1 / 0.8.2 (in both profiles, if you have it in both). Steps in the README, Install on Android.
Windows 4.4.2
- A new rule starts on the live category — Add apps… and Add address… now suggest the category links go to right now, not the first in the list.
One command — in PowerShell:
irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Husarp/linkpilot/main/get.ps1 | iexFrom the files — download LinkPilot-4.4.2.zip, unzip it into a folder you will keep, double-click Install.cmd. Or press Update now in the app.

LinkPilot for Android 0.8.2 + Windows 4.4.1
LinkPilot for Android 0.8.2
- Work profile browsers need LinkPilot in the work profile too — the setup (on phones with a work profile) and a new ⓘ on Home › Links open in now say so: install LinkPilot there as well (in Island: clone it); Add a category then lists those browsers and says if anything else is needed.
Download LinkPilot-Android-0.8.2.apk on your phone and open it. It installs over 0.8.1. If you still have 0.8.0 (from release v4.2.4), uninstall it once first. Steps in the README, Install on Android.
Windows: 4.4.1
No change to the program — the same as 4.4.0, with a new version number for this release. Nothing to do if you have 4.4.0 (updating does no harm).
One command — in PowerShell:
irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Husarp/linkpilot/main/get.ps1 | iexFrom the files — download LinkPilot-4.4.1.zip, unzip it into a folder you will keep, double-click Install.cmd.
What's new in 4.4: see v4.4.0.

LinkPilot 4.4.0 - edit rules, one rule per app
New in LinkPilot 4.4.0 (Windows)
- Edit rules — Edit… on the Rules tab, or double-click a rule: change where its links go, and an address rule's address.
- A clearer rules list — When a link comes from (apps) · or its address has (sites) · Goes to profile.
- One rule per app or address — adding or editing one that already has a rule asks: Replace the older rule or Keep the older rule.
- Shortcuts: no more false "taken by another program" for LinkPilot's own shortcuts. A real one explains on hover which kinds of programs usually hold keys (Windows does not say which).
- The release zip is now called LinkPilot-4.4.0.zip (the program inside is still
BrowserSwitch.exe— Windows remembers your default browser by that name).
Install on Windows
One command — in PowerShell:
irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Husarp/linkpilot/main/get.ps1 | iexIt downloads this release's source code, builds the program on your PC with the compiler that is part of Windows (no ready-made .exe is downloaded), installs it for your account and opens it. Run it again to update, or press Update now in the app.
From the files — download LinkPilot-4.4.0.zip, unzip it into a folder you will keep, double-click Install.cmd. Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" the first time — More info → Run anyway.
Android
LinkPilot-Android-0.8.1.apk — the same as in v4.2.5, no change. If you still have 0.8.0, uninstall it once first (0.8.1 is signed with the app's own release key). Steps in the README, Install on Android.
BrowserSwitch.exe SHA-256: 5FDF22616F30A1E561C800324E677D0B44A64C7D38D3321A01CC8F1FA5C79D8C

LinkPilot for Android 0.8.1 (release key) + Windows 4.2.5
LinkPilot for Android 0.8.1 — now signed with the app's own release key.
Android: one-time reinstall if you have 0.8.0
0.8.0 (in v4.2.4) was signed with a temporary test key. From 0.8.1 on, every APK is signed with LinkPilot's own release key — Android only installs an update signed with the same key as the installed app, so this is what lets future updates install over it.
- You have 0.8.0: uninstall it first (long-press LinkPilot › App info › Uninstall), then install LinkPilot-Android-0.8.1.apk. Its settings start fresh. This happens once; later versions install over 0.8.1.
- New install: download LinkPilot-Android-0.8.1.apk on your phone, open it and allow installing from your browser or Files app; Play Protect may warn about an unknown developer — More details → Install anyway. LinkPilot then walks you through the rest.
No change to the app itself.

Windows: 4.2.5
No change to the program — the same as 4.2.4, with a new version number for this release. Nothing to do if you have 4.2.4 (updating does no harm).
One command — in PowerShell:
irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Husarp/linkpilot/main/get.ps1 | iexFrom the files — download BrowserSwitch-4.2.5.zip, unzip it into a folder you will keep, double-click Install.cmd. Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" the first time — More info → Run anyway.

LinkPilot 4.2.4 (Windows) + LinkPilot for Android 0.8.0
Browser Switch is now LinkPilot, and it has an Android app.
Run it again to update. An existing Browser Switch install is moved to Programs\LinkPilot with its settings, and it stays your default browser.
From the files — download BrowserSwitch-4.2.4.zip, unzip it into a folder you will keep, double-click Install.cmd. The program is not signed, so Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" the first time — More info → Run anyway. (The program file keeps its old name, BrowserSwitch.exe: Windows remembers your default browser by it.)
Install on Android (8.0 or newer)
- On your phone, download LinkPilot-Android-0.8.0.apk below.
- Open it. Android asks to allow installing apps from your browser or Files app the first time — allow it, go back and tap Install. Play Protect may warn about an unknown developer — More details → Install anyway.
- Open LinkPilot; it walks you through the rest, including making it the default browser.
New for Windows since 3.12.6
- New name: LinkPilot.
- Clean copied links (on/off): copy a link with tracking and you paste the clean one. A short note says when a link was cleaned.
- Online shops' tracking removed too — Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Allegro, Temu, Shein, Etsy, Walmart… (110 tracking parts, 15 redirects).
- The window opens at once: it is built in the background after LinkPilot starts and kept when you close it; tabs no longer lag or flicker.
- One ⓘ per tab explains the whole tab in short points, instead of 17 "?" marks. Click it again to close it.
- The on-screen note has a light frame, so it shows on dark screens.
LinkPilot for Android 0.8.0 (new)
- Stands in as your default browser and hands every link to the browser of the live category, with tracking removed on the way.
- Quick Settings tiles (Next browser, Choose browser, Clean copied link) and home-screen widgets to switch.
- Link rules by app or site, link cleaning (the same lists as Windows), copied links cleaned automatically on Android 13+ (via an accessibility service that hears only the system's "copied" preview).
- Work profile browsers (Island, work phones) on Android 11+.
- Link log grouped by day, with Copy link / Open again.
- No internet permission — it cannot go online. Check for updates on GitHub opens this page.

Upgrading from 3.3.0: either way works; your config.txt is kept.
New in 3.12.6
- Installing again, or moving Browser Switch, while it already is your default browser keeps your original browser: it is taken over from the copy installed before.
- (3.12.5) The one-command install works in a normal PowerShell window; before, Windows' default policy stopped it before Browser Switch was registered.
What's new since 3.3.0
- Setup screen on the first start and whenever Browser Switch is not the default browser: how it works and why it can be trusted, your choices (link cleaning, link log, update checks), making it the default — then "You're all set", with a first category made from the browser you used until now.
- Tabs: Categories, Rules, Shortcuts, Link cleaning, Link log, About & updates.
- Link cleaning: tracking parts removed from links (
utm_*,fbclid, YouTube'ssi…) and redirects skipped (Google, Outlook Safe Links, Facebook…), with a box to try any link. - Link log: every link, which app it came from, where it opened and what was changed — kept on your PC only.
- Updates: checking GitHub is off unless you turn it on; Update now builds the new version from source. This is the only time Browser Switch goes online.
- One-command install and update; uninstall opens Settings on the page of the browser you used before, to make it the default again with one click.
- One Rules on / off switch (window, dock menu, shortcut); a taskbar button while the window is open; web page files show the browser they open in; nicer "?" marks, browser list and hand cursors; the top of the window says when Browser Switch is not the default.
See the README for everything, including Privacy and security.
