TECHO5 Spot v1.4.6
Alarms that get louder, your own alarm sound, and a call you can hear ring out.
- Alarms that get louder: a new Gets louder setting (on the screen under Alarms, in the setup page and in Home Assistant) starts an alarm 30 dB down and brings it up to the ring volume over 30 seconds to 5 minutes. An alarm's spoken words wait until it's at full. Thanks, rabbith01e.
- Your own alarm sound: upload
alarm.wavunder Sounds of your own and pick Your own as the alarm sound. - Hear a call ring out: an outgoing call plays the far end's ringing tone, or its network's announcement, and the device's own ringing tone where the network sends none. Thanks, miraassist.
- Spoken notifications on a Home Assistant not in English: reminders, alarm words and
speaknow find the device's assist satellite by the device's name, in any language. Thanks, christianschmidt. - AirPlay: a receiver that came up without announcing itself on the network is now restarted on its own. Thanks, chr-braun.
- Two new skin choices, Commodore 64 and TECHO5 BASIC (their colors and pixel font).

The Bluetooth kernel (techo5-spot-kernel-bt.Image.gz-dtb, Linux 4.9, GPL-2.0) is built by tools/linux/build-kernel.sh from the LineageOS rook kernel source (amazon-oss) with the configuration in tools/linux. The rescue bundle carries Alpine Linux packages (their sources: https://gitlab.alpinelinux.org/alpine/aports) and TECHO5's own tools.
TECHO5 Spot v1.4.5
Calls that show a name.
- Calls show whom they're to: the new
phone_call_namedaction places a call and shows "Alex (15551234567)" on the screen, in the Phone call sensor and in the phone events. Calling a contact by voice shows the name the same way. Thanks, miraassist.

TECHO5 Spot v1.4.4
Music Assistant follows the device's volume, Motion reaches across the room, and a phone switch for a SIP server at home.
- Music Assistant volume: a volume or mute change from Home Assistant, the buttons or a voice request now shows in Music Assistant too. Thanks, stoney66.
- Motion range: Presence sensitivity above 50 now also counts smaller changes, so somebody across the room is seen. 50 and below work as before. Thanks, firereverie.
- Picture notifications: a run of notifications over the same picture no longer flickers. Thanks, miraassist.
- Phone without encryption: a new switch, off by default, for a SIP server on your own network that has no TLS, such as a FRITZ!Box. Thanks, miraassist.

TECHO5 Spot v1.4.3
Buttons on camera views.
- Camera buttons: a camera's view can have up to four buttons that run a Home Assistant action, like Open gate or Unlock, stacked above Talk. Every button asks for a second tap first. Set them on the setup page (Connections, Camera buttons) or with the new
home_camera_buttonsaction. Thanks, Oscar2024.

TECHO5 Spot v1.4.2
Words that work over music without the wake word, a new turn screen, and a few fixes.
- Volume up and next song words: two more words that act over music with no wake word, next to the volume down word. Off until you choose them. Thanks, chaoticdopey.
- Face turn screen: a little face that listens, thinks and talks, with the words under it. Thanks, miraassist.
- Camera login from Home Assistant: a new
camera_credentialsaction sets the camera stream's login, once you turn on Camera login from Home Assistant. Thanks, nuno407. - Custom wake words: models from newer trainers with a wider window load again. Thanks, stoney66.
- Forecast days: with Germany's DWD weather, the forecast no longer reads "Mon, Mon, Mon, Mon". Thanks, miraassist.

TECHO5 Spot v1.4.1
A camera list you can arrange, names for go2rtc streams, and a clock that works without the internet.
- Camera list: the setup page (Connections, Camera list) sets the order of the camera list. A new switch, List this device's own camera, is on by default; turned off, the Spot's camera leaves the list and "show". Thanks, snydema1.
- Names for go2rtc streams: each stream can have a name of its own, like "Doorbell" for
front_door_sub, shown in the list and said with "show the doorbell". Nothing changes in go2rtc. - Your own time server: the setup page (General, Time server) takes a time server on your network, like your router. It's asked before the internet's time servers.
- Clock from Home Assistant: a Spot that reaches no time server at all now takes Home Assistant's time when it connects. Once a time server sets the clock, Home Assistant's time doesn't change it.

TECHO5 Spot v1.4.0
Call people by name, hang up by voice, and a volume down word.
- A phone book, and "call Mom." Contacts can now have other names (Mom, Mother), and the setup page has a Phone book section to edit them. Turn on Call contacts by voice, say the wake word and "call Mom", and the Spot says "Calling Mom." and dials 3 seconds after it finishes speaking. The stop word, the hang-up word or Hang up calls it off. Needs the phone signed in and "Allow the device to perform Home Assistant actions".
- Hang up by voice (#188): the wake word now works during a call, and an optional hang-up word ends a call without it. Thanks, wonderslug.
- A volume down word (#246): an optional word turns the music down without the wake word (#191). Thanks, chaoticdopey and ZiraiMode.
- Home Assistant cameras: None, All or These. The setup page now shows which cameras the Spot lists. Choose None, All (the default) or a list.
- Blueprints (#252): the Home Assistant automations from the docs can now be imported as blueprints. Thanks, wonderslug.

TECHO5 Spot v1.3.1
A fix for Bluetooth volume, a switch to keep the device's own volume, and more kinds of custom wake words.
- Bluetooth volume follows your phone again. Since spot-v1.2.0, a phone or computer playing over Bluetooth set the volume once, from the level it had when it connected, and moves of its volume slider after that were ignored. The Spot now follows the slider as it moves.
- Bluetooth sets the volume: a new switch, on by default. Turn it off and the Spot keeps its own volume; a phone's or computer's slider then only turns its own sound down. Thanks, tUDy-or-else.
- More custom wake word models run: models trained with residual connections or pooling now run, and one that loads but can't run is refused when you add it. Thanks, ZiraiMode.
- Camera: turning SSH on while the camera was in use no longer leaves the camera held by the SSH server. Thanks, fred0.

TECHO5 Spot v1.3.0
Clearer music, Swipe for volume, and Motion and Person sensors.
- Clearer music: stations, library files, AirPlay, Bluetooth and video sound are converted to the speaker's 48 kHz through a proper filter, so the treble no longer leaves faint ghost tones.
- Swipe for volume: a switch to stop a swipe up or down on the face from changing the volume. It's on by default, so nothing changes until you turn it off. Thanks, mtriedl.
- Presence is now Motion in Home Assistant, a motion sensor, with the same entity ID, so automations keep working. Person now looks on its own every 1.5 seconds while it's on, and has a new Person confidence sensor. While it's on it uses some CPU all the time. Thanks, firereverie.
- Camera discovery: with the new switch on, ONVIF apps and Home Assistant can find the camera on the network. It's off by default. Thanks, nuno407.
- A faster wake word engine. Thanks, nuno407.

TECHO5 Spot v1.2.0
Skins, three new clocks, new turn screens and a cue light.
- Skins (Settings > Display > Look, or Screen skin in Home Assistant): Pip-Boy, Amber terminal, LCARS, E-ink, Blueprint, Game Boy, Matrix, Synthwave and HAL 9000, each with its colors and font, and the one-color ones over every screen. The muted ring, the camera mark and the red night clock keep their red. docs/setup.md
- Three clock styles: Nixie, Stack and Overlap.
- Turn screens: VU meters, Orb and HAL 9000 beside Wave and Bars, plus Cue light (the rim shows the request and the face stays as it is) and Cue and captions.
- Portuguese as a screen language. Thanks, felipewilliam2.
- Now Playing goes back to the clock after music has been paused for 30 seconds.
- Bluetooth phones take the speaker by what they play, not when their audio opens. Thanks, tibole.
- A replaced custom wake word file in Home Assistant is now fetched and used without choosing another word first.
- The assistant's web lookups give better answers.
