🎨 Completely Rebuilt User Interface

The entire interface was designed from scratch for Android — it is not an adaptation of the desktop version. Every screen, component and animation is optimised specifically for one-handed mobile use.

  • Native OLED Design System: Dedicated colour palette with absolute blacks #0a0a0f, layered surfaces, thin borders and typography tuned for high-density screens.
  • Bottom Bar Navigation: 1-tap access to Home, Following, Search, History and Settings without ever losing context.
  • Redesigned Channel Screen: Compact header with banner, avatar, partner badge, horizontal tabs (Home, VODs, Clips, Series, Schedule, About) and a mini-bar that appears on scroll.
  • Adaptive Live Grid: 2-column layout with live thumbnails, LIVE badges, viewer counters and category chips to filter in place.
  • Smart Following Tab: Automatically separates live and offline channels, showing the featured streamer large and the rest in a compact list, sortable by viewers or recency.
  • Fullscreen OLED Player: Native Android controls with touch gestures, brightness/volume HUD, floating PiP and background audio mode.
  • Dedicated Settings Panel: Native settings with RetoldShield and StarGate cards, protection toggles, engine selection and account controls.

🛡️ Ad Protection & Performance (RetoldShield)

  • Zero Pre-rolls & Mid-rolls: Native integration of the local RetoldShield engine, removing ads on live streams and VODs automatically.
  • Full Native Resolution (1080p60): No forced drop to 480p/360p during ad breaks.
  • Zero Proxy Latency: Direct connection to Twitch's official CDN servers, eliminating buffering and transmission lag.
  • RetoldShield Status Popup: OLED popup with a real-time status indicator, blocked-ad counter and a quick toggle.

🌟 StarGate (Community Unlock — New Flow)

  • Code Always Visible: The dialog shows the verification code large (monospace) and copies it to the clipboard automatically — no confusion about what to copy.
  • Guided 2-Step Flow: First you see the code, then you press "Open GitHub" — numbered step-by-step instructions right in the dialog.
  • GitHub Device Flow Authentication: 1-Tap sign-in via Chrome Custom Tab. The app waits in the background and unlocks automatically on approval.
  • Star Detection & Instant Unlock: Automatic verification of the star on the GitHub repository to enable RetoldShield and Sub-Only VODs.
  • Offline Support & Grace Period: Access is preserved for 5 days even without an internet connection, with a silent re-check every 24 hours and one automatic retry when the period expires.

  • Sub-Only VOD Unlocker: Direct playback of past broadcasts reserved for subscribers.
  • Chat & Timestamp Sync: Historical chat synchronised with the video timeline.

  • Animated 7TV Support: Full rendering of animated emotes, user badges and zero-width combinations.

  • Smart Scroll Pill: A "New messages ↓" button in Retold purple to jump back to real time.

📺 Background Audio, PiP & Controls

  • Native Picture-in-Picture (PiP): Floating player when you switch to other apps.
  • Background Playback with the Screen Off (VODs): VOD audio keeps playing with the phone locked. It stays disabled for live streams: with the screen off Twitch's player switches quality and the hardware decoder does not reconfigure while nobody is watching.
  • Lockscreen Notification Controls: Media notification with play/pause and metadata.
  • Fullscreen Touch Gestures:
    • Vertical swipe on the left → brightness
    • Vertical swipe on the right → volume
    • Double tap on the sides → seek ±10 seconds
