🚀 What's New:

  • Project Support via GitHub Star: To support project growth and expand our community, access to advanced features like RetoldShield and Sub-Only VODs now requires a GitHub star: a 100% free gesture that gives us the visibility needed to keep improving the app for everyone.
  • Secure GitHub Device Code Verification: Secure account linking using a temporary device code (no passwords or personal tokens needed) to verify your star with cryptographic certainty.
  • RetoldShield Stability and Resolution Switching: Fixed video stream stuttering and freeze issues during manual resolution changes and automatic quality shifts while RetoldShield is active.
  • Retold Mixer and Settings Persistence: Added full 6-language support (IT, EN, FR, DE, ES, PT) and fixed the toggle persistence issue across app restarts.
  • General UI Improvements: Visual tweaks, corrected translations, and overall app stability improvements.

🛡️ RetoldShield Ongoing Development
RetoldShield is under active and continuous development. While it eliminates the vast majority of preroll and midroll ads at native 1080p60 Source resolution without buffering, Twitch frequently updates its delivery infrastructure and a few ads may still occasionally slip through. Continuous engine updates and refinements are being deployed regularly.

🚀 Installation & Getting Started

🪟 Windows:

  1. Download Twitch Retold Setup 2.1.1.exe from the assets below.
  2. Run the installer. If Windows Defender SmartScreen appears, click "More info" and then "Run anyway".

🍎 macOS:

  1. Download the correct file for your Mac's processor:
    • Apple Silicon (M1 / M2 / M3 / M4): Twitch-Retold-2.1.1-arm64.dmg
    • Intel: Twitch-Retold-2.1.1.dmg
  2. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Twitch Retold into your Applications folder.

🐧 Linux:

  1. AppImage (Universal): download Twitch.Retold-2.1.1.AppImage, make it executable (chmod +x Twitch.Retold-*.AppImage) and launch it.
  2. Debian / Ubuntu / Mint: download twitch-retold_2.1.1_amd64.deb and run sudo dpkg -i twitch-retold_*_amd64.deb.
