HyperION v1.0.4.0 — Playback Stability, Workflow Fixes & Reliable Plug-in Scanning

HyperION 1.0.4.0 is a maintenance release focused on playback stability, Pattern Mixer reliability, Arrangement editing, VST3 discovery, protected assets, crash diagnostics, and AI safety reporting.

Highlights

  • Fixed Pattern Mixer channel On/Off, Mute, and Solo behavior.
  • Improved playback timing and eliminated several stale or repeating Pattern-audio cases.
  • Reduced clicks and pops during clip playback, seeking, looping, and plug-in changes.
  • Added the ability to fit analyzed audio to the project key without changing its speed.
  • Fixed multi-clip duplication placement.
  • Improved Waves and WaveShell plug-in discovery.
  • Fixed the plug-in scanner progress bar not reaching completion.
  • Prevented duplicate Browser entries originating from old build locations.
  • Added improved Windows crash dumps and diagnostics.
  • Added functional AI-generated content reporting with offline retry support.

Playback and Audio Engine

  • Fixed stale Pattern render data continuing to play after Pattern edits.
  • Fixed old or lower-pitched Pattern notes returning during playback.
  • Corrected Pattern root-note and per-step pitch handling.
  • Improved sample-accurate Pattern scheduling across audio blocks.
  • Improved long Arrangement playback stability and rhythmic timing.
  • Cleared outdated routing and plug-in delay data after seeks, loops, stops, and other transport discontinuities.
  • Prevented audio from the previous playhead position leaking into the new position.
  • Added short safety ramps at clip boundaries to reduce clicks and pops.
  • Improved clip overlap and crossfade transitions.
  • Smoothed audio transitions while inserting, removing, bypassing, or reconfiguring plug-ins.
  • Reduced interface stalls and stale audio while editing Patterns during playback.

Pattern Mixer

  • Fixed channel On/Off controls so disabled channels no longer process or output audio.
  • Fixed Solo behavior for Pattern channels and the Pattern master.
  • Corrected interactions between On/Off, Mute, and Solo states.
  • Disabled Pattern master channels now clear their output correctly.
  • Pattern channel enabled states are saved and restored with projects.
  • Pattern audio is refreshed correctly after changing pitch, velocity, pan, sample, Mute, Solo, or power state.
  • Improved Pattern channel power-control hit areas and visual feedback.
  • Improved Pattern Mixer fader visibility and theme-aware colouring.
  • Pattern sample previews now respect the configured lane velocity.

Pitch Analysis

  • Added Fit to Project Key after analyzing an audio clip.
  • HyperION now compares the detected source key with the current project key.
  • The nearest musical semitone offset is calculated automatically.
  • Pitch fitting changes the clip's pitch without changing its duration or playback speed.
  • Repeating the operation no longer accumulates additional transposition.
  • The available pitch range is expanded automatically when necessary.

Arrangement and Editing

  • Fixed multi-clip duplication being positioned after the first selected clip.
  • Selected clips are now duplicated as one complete group.
  • The duplicated group is placed after the latest-ending selected clip.
  • Relative timing and gaps between selected clips are preserved.
  • Improved audio and MIDI selection handling during duplication.
  • Improved clip fade validation after editing and trimming.
  • Improved synchronization of reversed and processed clip states.

VST3 and Waves Plug-ins

  • Fixed the plug-in scan progress bar remaining below 100% after scanning completed.
  • Improved WaveShell detection and plug-in enumeration.
  • Increased the scan timeout for WaveShell because it may expose many individual Waves plug-ins.
  • Previous WaveShell entries incorrectly placed on the blacklist are released for scanning again.
  • Temporary timeouts and missing dependencies are now treated as retryable conditions.
  • Slow or temporarily busy plug-ins are no longer permanently blacklisted automatically.
  • Improved plug-in scanner result and error descriptions.
  • Improved scanner isolation when a third-party plug-in fails.
  • Strengthened the Windows crash barrier used when opening native plug-in editors.
  • Improved fallback to HyperION's generic editor when a native editor cannot open safely.
  • Improved hosted plug-in editor sizing, preset access, footer information, and theme integration.

Browser and Protected Assets

  • Fixed sounds appearing multiple times because assets from old build directories were also scanned.
  • Browser scanning now uses one canonical protected asset location.
  • Improved Browser cache migration and duplicate cleanup.
  • Preserved sample author suffixes so legitimately different samples are not merged incorrectly.
  • Fixed protected assets occasionally being reported as damaged during verification.
  • Improved recovery when asset mounting is interrupted by an application or system shutdown.
  • Fixed simultaneous asset-mount workers conflicting while creating directories.
  • Existing valid mounted assets are reused instead of being rebuilt.
  • Unchanged protected assets retain their hashes and do not require unnecessary updater downloads.

Crash Diagnostics

  • Added Windows minidump generation for unhandled HyperION crashes.
  • Crash reports now include the exception, faulting module, process, thread, application version, and build information.
  • Crash logs include the path of the matching dump file.
  • Improved handling of both unhandled and vectored Windows exceptions.
  • Improved diagnostics for HyperION, HyperION Plugin Scanner, and HyperION AI Setup crashes.

AI Content Reporting

  • Added Report Issue to the AI Music Generator and Prompt Audio Studio.
  • Users can report inappropriate or problematic AI-generated results for review.
  • Reports are stored locally before delivery is attempted.
  • Reports are queued automatically when the review service is unavailable.
  • Queued reports are retried after a later application launch.
  • Successful reports receive a reference ID.
  • Repeated delivery attempts do not create duplicate reports.
  • Generated audio, license keys, device names, and machine fingerprints are not uploaded.

Distribution and Updating

  • Updated HyperION, HyperION Plugin Scanner, and HyperION AI Setup to version 1.0.4.0.
  • Corrected Microsoft Store package identity and publisher presentation.
  • Improved Demo, Standard, and Ultimate edition packaging.
  • Preserved Microsoft Store entitlement verification for production builds.
  • Updated application and utility icons.
  • Regenerated the differential update manifest without modifying unchanged protected assets.
  • Existing projects, presets, settings, licenses, AI credentials, and project media remain compatible.
