HyperION v1.0.5.0 — Expressive MIDI, Recording Control & Native ARM64
HyperION 1.0.5.0 expands the creative workflow with FL-style note articulations, cleaner recording separation, a substantially upgraded sample editor, stronger plug-in hosting, and native Windows on Arm delivery. This release also closes several stopped-playback audio and plug-in lifecycle issues reported during the 1.0.4 cycle.
Highlights
- Added native, FL-style Slide and Legato notes in Piano Roll, independent of MPE mode.
- Separated Arrangement, Piano Roll, and Drum Pad recording so each workspace records only when its own REC mode is armed.
- Added first-hit recording start for Piano Roll and Drum Pad, persistent project count-in settings, and
*/ Numpad*transport recording control. - Added editable sample loop points, ping-pong looping, waveform preview, up to +2 dB sample gain, BPM Fit, stretch modes, and Cut Silence at Start.
- Improved VST3 and WaveShell discovery, retryable quarantine handling, scan progress, and long cold-start support for Waves catalogues.
- Added a professional plug-in wrapper panel with processing, MIDI, GUI, troubleshooting, connection, preset, and automation controls.
- Fixed recurring stopped-state Pattern ghost audio, stale C1 step metadata, retained plug-in voices, and pre-stop PDC audio replay.
- Hardened plug-in editor close, reopen, and replacement paths to prevent stale editors and asynchronous replacement races.
- Added native x64 and ARM64 executables and MSIX packages, plus architecture-aware Setup and Updater delivery.
Piano Roll: Slide, Legato & Note Editing
- Slide and Legato are now distinct note articulations rather than MPE aliases.
- Slide reuses the preceding voice and glides into the target pitch over the Slide note duration without retriggering the instrument.
- Legato overlaps connected notes while preserving a normal target Note-On for mono and legato-capable instruments.
- Articulations can be changed from the Piano Roll toolbar, Ctrl + right-click note menu, and Note Properties window.
- Plain right-click drag remains the fast erase gesture; Shift + right-click is reserved for MPE editing.
- Slide and Legato state is stored with the project and displayed directly on notes.
Recording Workflows
- Arrangement recording no longer arms Piano Roll or Drum Pad recording implicitly.
- Piano Roll and Drum Pad local REC modes operate independently from the main Arrangement REC control.
- When a local REC mode is armed, the first keyboard, MIDI, pad, or mouse input starts playback and is captured instead of being dropped.
- Recorded note duration follows the actual press/release interval with a safe minimum length.
- Stopping playback finalizes active local notes and Arrangement audio/MIDI clips once, without reopening recording on the next Space press.
*and Numpad*start playback with Arrangement recording; pressing the shortcut again stops recording while transport can continue.- Arrangement and Pattern count-in defaults are off and are saved per project.
Audio Clips & Sample Editor
- Added a full waveform view with draggable Start, End, Loop In, and Loop Out points.
- Added standard and ping-pong loop playback with loop crossfade support.
- Sample gain can now be raised to +2 dB from the editor.
- Added BPM Fit / Time Stretch controls with project-tempo follow, pitch preservation, and source/target BPM editing.
- Added selectable stretch modes and material-focused algorithms for drums, vocals, speech, textures, low-latency preview, and offline-quality requests.
- Improved pitch-preserving playback with allocation-free processing and cubic interpolation in the built-in fallback engine.
- Added Cut Silence at Start to the Arrangement clip context menu while preserving the detected transient's timeline position.
- Loop, trim, gain, stretch, and tempo settings are persisted with the project.
Plug-in Hosting & Scanning
- WaveShell entries from older short-watchdog builds are released from stale quarantine and can be scanned again.
- Waves catalogue enumeration now receives a bounded ten-minute cold-start window instead of being treated as a permanent failure.
- Timed-out or temporarily unavailable plug-ins remain retryable, while genuine per-binary crashes retain quarantine protection.
- Plug-in picker results now exclude invalid/quarantined entries and use stable sorting.
- Plug-in editor hosting now adapts to plug-in-driven resizing and display DPI while keeping oversized editors accessible.
- Added wrapper controls for processing mode, inactive I/O, MIDI behavior, GUI scaling, parameter notifications, presets, routing, troubleshooting, and All Notes Off.
- Added parameter mapping with formula presets, custom formulas, smoothing, conflict handling, and MIDI learn.
- Plug-in replacement uses generation checks so an older asynchronous load cannot overwrite a newer request.
- Editor teardown is synchronized before instance destruction to reduce close/reopen and replacement crashes.
Playback Stability & Audio Engine
- Reset stale Pattern
activeVoiceCountstate when playback stops so an idle generator graph cannot continue emitting rhythmic ghost audio. - Reset mixer PDC delay history across transport discontinuities so audio buffered before Stop cannot replay afterward.
- Repaired stale C1 step/root-note metadata that could pitch a selected sample down unexpectedly.
- Added bounded, non-blocking All Notes Off cleanup across MIDI channels and stopped plug-in processing tails.
- Prevented VST step/audition playback from creating a parallel synthesized fallback voice.
- Improved selected-slot preview isolation and cleanup when changing Pattern lanes.
Licensing & Microsoft Store
- Local license material is now protected with Windows DPAPI instead of storing the recoverable key as plain text.
- Local activations synchronize with the server
/checkendpoint and clear invalid or revoked activation state. - Microsoft Store license validation runs only for the real
KOSMUSIC.HyperionDAWpackage identity, so normal EXE and test builds are not incorrectly locked.
Windows x64, ARM64, Setup & Updater
- Added true PE x64 and ARM64 builds for HyperION, HyperION AI Setup, and HyperION Plug-in Scanner.
- Added architecture-specific x64 and ARM64 MSIX packages for Microsoft Store distribution.
HyperionSetup.exeselects the correct x64 or ARM64 payload for the device.- Added
Updater.exewith the same architecture-aware delivery model. - Shared assets remain common to both architectures to avoid duplicate downloads.
