FreshCtx 0.12.0 adds observed evidence provenance.

  • Captures successful source reads through a bounded, root-scoped hook.
  • Generates inspected sources from actual read events.
  • Records inspected, selected, cited, candidate, and required sources separately.
  • Links provenance receipts to FreshCtx observation and action/evidence correlation IDs.
  • Keeps freshness and provenance outcomes independent: a source can be CURRENT while its provenance is INCONSISTENT.
  • Includes wrong-source discovery and right-file-read/wrong-file-cited demonstrations.
  • Does not retain source contents, credentials, exception messages, or action arguments.

Verified through protected CI across Python 3.10-3.13, MCP v2, supported framework conformance, package validation, Windows onboarding, and clean public installation.
