Journey AI Engineer v0.1.1 — Public beta quality release
This patch release turns the first public package into a better beta for real users and contributors.
What is improved
- Real Playwright browser smoke tests cover dashboard navigation and lesson deep links in CI.
- README now has CI, release, license and feedback badges plus a clear public-beta call to action.
- A public beta guide documents portable versus source-clone workflows, checksum verification, feedback templates and known boundaries.
- Windows quickstart now verifies the checksum of the ZIP that is actually published.
- Playwright is included as a reproducible development test dependency and has no high-severity npm audit finding.
- Timezone data is bundled for reliable Windows packaging.
Download and verify
Download JourneyAIEngineer-v0.1.1-windows-x64.zip and SHA256SUMS.txt from this release. Verify the ZIP before extracting:
Get-FileHash .\JourneyAIEngineer-v0.1.1-windows-x64.zip -Algorithm SHA256
Get-Content .\SHA256SUMS.txtSHA-256:
df1020847a0c4cb5a127c0c5f6b6dd6ac8852a9711ca8531b044e058f7f51566
The portable package stores runtime data under %LOCALAPPDATA%\\JourneyAIEngineer unless JOURNEY_DATA_DIR is set. It does not include a Git clone; use the source clone when you want to edit lessons or publish learning artifacts.
Windows SmartScreen may show a warning because this executable is unsigned. The checksum verifies file integrity; it does not replace code signing.
Scope
This is a local-first, single-user Windows beta. It does not provide hosted accounts, public progress sync, cloud deployment or a paid AI API. Use GitHub Discussions for experience feedback and the issue forms for reproducible bugs or feature requests.
