repomap v0.2.0

New

  • FVM-pinned Flutter SDK detection. repomap agents now checks for .fvm/ (the directory FVM creates for the pinned-SDK symlink/config) or .fvmrc (the pin file used by newer FVM versions) at the repository root. When either is present, the generated Dart/Flutter build/test/lint commands are prefixed with fvm — fvm flutter build, fvm flutter test, fvm flutter analyze — instead of assuming a bare flutter on PATH. The .claude/settings.json permissions allowlist picks this up automatically as Bash(fvm flutter*).

  • Faster scans, smaller maps. The scanner's default-ignored directories now also cover .dart_tool, target (Rust/Maven), .gradle, Pods, DerivedData, .terraform, coverage, .next, .nuxt, .pytest_cache, and .mypy_cache — generated/cache output that was previously walked and rendered even though it's never real source. Both repomap map and repomap agents scan faster and produce cleaner, more token-efficient output as a result.

repomap v0.1.0 — initial release

A CLI with two jobs:

repomap map

Generates a Markdown or plain-text map of a repository: directory tree, language breakdown, file/directory counts.

repomap agents

Scaffolds instruction/skill files for AI coding agents (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and the generic AGENTS.md convention), derived from the repository's own structure — aimed at cutting the tokens a fresh agent session burns re-deriving context, and the turns lost to permission prompts for routine commands.

What gets detected and generated:

  • Languages & build ecosystems — Go, Node.js, Python (pip/Poetry), Rust, Java (Maven/Gradle), Ruby, PHP, C/C++ (CMake), Dart/Flutter, Elixir, Swift, and Deno, each with build/test/lint commands.
  • Node.js package manager — detected from the lockfile (npm/yarn/pnpm/bun), so commands are correct instead of always assuming npm.
  • Entry points — main.go, index.ts, manage.py, Program.cs, etc., so an agent knows where to start reading.
  • CI configuration — GitHub Actions (with workflow names), GitLab CI, CircleCI, Travis, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines, Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Key frameworks/dependencies — React, Next.js, Vue, Angular, Django, Flask, FastAPI, Gin, Echo, Fiber, Actix, Axum, Rails, and more, detected from manifest content.
  • Environment templates — .env.example / .env.sample / .env.dist, noted so an agent copies and fills it in instead of guessing required configuration.
  • Monorepo sub-projects — nested manifests like apps/web/package.json or services/api/go.mod, so an agent doesn't spend a turn on find.
  • Style/lint config — .editorconfig, .eslintrc*, .golangci.yml, rustfmt.toml, etc., so an agent follows existing conventions instead of re-deriving them.
  • .claude/settings.json permissions — a pre-populated allowlist (ecosystem build/test/lint commands, plus git status/diff/log/show/blame/add, find, ls, grep, rg, wc) so Claude Code doesn't prompt for routine commands, while destructive git operations (push --force, reset --hard, clean -f, rm -rf, …) stay explicitly denied.

Generated targets:

  • CLAUDE.md + .claude/skills/<project>-overview/SKILL.md + .claude/settings.json for Claude Code
  • .github/copilot-instructions.md for GitHub Copilot
  • .cursor/rules/repository.mdc for Cursor
  • AGENTS.md, the generic convention read by several agentic coding tools

Ships as cross-platform binaries for linux/darwin/windows (amd64/arm64) below.
