Agenda
Discussion on revised workflow idea with Order ID combined with PCIM for manual and auto-programming of pumps.
Notes
Tom K mentioned that the PCD-03 Includes the Order ID. Auto-programming of pump could result in pump sending a DEV-51 to DPAM or EMR sending DEV-51 to PCIM.
For the manual programming approach, a PCD-03 lite (context update) could come from the EMR that would also bring that Order ID.
Caution that we shouldn't rely to much on a DEV-51 to get an Order ID. It was noted that if an association with an Order ID could be updated that could help.
PCIM is recognized as the patient/device association source of truth. The order management system is the source of truth for orders for patients. PCIM could still be used to communicate this information, with split sources of truth across the two systems, much like ADT is the source of truth for patient admit / encounter information.
