Working Release for GitHub

Prerequisites

  • Java 11 or higher
  • JavaFX SDK 23.0.2 or compatible version

How to run

  1. Unzip JavaFX SDK onto a directory i.e. "C:\javafx-sdk-23.0.2"
  2. open Terminal or Command Prompt in the same directory as JPC-1.2.jar
  3. run java --module-path "C:\path\to\javafx-sdk\lib" --add-modules javafx.controls,javafx.fxml,javafx.graphics,javafx.web,javafx.media -jar JPC-1.2.jar
*you could run both host and client on the same local machine.

Troubleshooting

  • "Port in use" error: Restart the application or check if another instance is running
  • "Module not found" error: Verify JavaFX path is correct and JavaFX is properly installed
  • Network issues: Check firewall/antivirus settings and network permissions
  • Java version issues: Ensure you're using Java 11 or higher
