LES+ 1.5.1

Patched the Add Locator shortcut (RShift + L) to use Live's native Win32 menu handling rather than simulated keyboard navigation.

This should make adding locators significantly more reliable, avoiding issues where the Create menu could remain open or focus would not transfer correctly to the newly created locator.

The implementation is now Live-version aware and includes compatibility handling for versions dating back to Ableton Live 8.

Compatibility note: Live versions older than Live 8 are no longer explicitly supported by this feature. Given that Live 8 was released well over a decade ago, this felt like a reasonable cutoff. If you're somehow running LES+ on an even older version of Live, first of all, impressive. Second, the Add Locator shortcut may not function correctly.

Developer note: This release also introduces a reusable Workflow Debug Mode for LES+.

When enabled, it can display AutoHotkey debug probes and step information as a workflow runs, making it easier to identify where a shortcut or automation path is failing.

The underlying debug helpers are reusable across LES+, so future features and bug fixes can hook into the same system rather than implementing one-off debug logic each time.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I'm still actively working on LES+, but these days I tend to prioritize making music first, so I apologize for any long-standing issues that haven't been addressed yet.

I'm planning to tackle several of those in the upcoming 1.5.1 patch. For now, though, I'm happy to finally present LES+ 1.5.0! (:

Configurable Input Send Delay

You can now configure both the Input Send Delay and Auto-Add Delay directly from the menu.

This can be useful if a plugin occasionally fails to add correctly. In most cases, 100–150 ms seems to be the sweet spot. On some versions of Live, particularly under heavier system load, you may need to increase this value further.

Unfortunately, there isn't much LES+ can do to eliminate the delay entirely until Ableton improves the reliability of Live's browser behavior.

Smart Undo / Redo

I've also added a new Smart Undo / Redo feature.

Some plugins, most notably ShaperBox 3, provide their own internal undo/redo system but don't expose native keyboard shortcuts for it. This means that using Ableton's standard undo command can affect Live's undo history instead, potentially undoing the insertion of the entire plugin rather than your most recent edit.

I found this sufficiently annoying that I decided to fix it. :)

Smart Undo first identifies the currently focused window, then applies a plugin-specific set of rules to locate and trigger the appropriate internal Undo or Redo control.

Currently, ShaperBox 3 is the only supported plugin. If there's interest in support for additional plugins, feel free to submit a feature request. Please don't submit requests for plugins where the native Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y shortcuts already work correctly.

Default shortcuts:

• Ctrl+Shift+Z → Smart Undo
• Ctrl+Shift+Y → Smart Redo

As a consequence, Ctrl+Y is now reserved for Smart Redo rather than Ableton's default binding. Sorry. :(

You should be able to just run the inno installer provided below, and it will setup the new version of the script.
Save your MenuConfig from your documents/lesplus folder first! Just in case.
