Initial release

First public release of ipxact-compiler, a standalone Python library that parses IEEE 1685-2022 IP-XACT XML documents into a fully-typed Python object model.

What's included

  • Parsers and hand-written dataclasses covering all five commonly used IP-XACT document types: component, design, designConfiguration, busDefinition, and abstractionDefinition.
  • The object model aims for full fidelity with the IEEE 1685-2022 XSD schema: every element and attribute the schema defines is represented.
  • Single-file parsing only, no cross-file resolution, no code generation, no validation beyond well-formed XML. This library reads IP-XACT and hands back Python objects; higher-level work (linking a multi-file design, semantic consistency checks) is left to tools built on top of it, such as XactFlow.

Status

This is an early, alpha-stage release. The parser is intentionally lenient (it favors defaulting over raising on malformed input), there is no XSD schema validation yet, and no Semantic Consistency Rule checking. See the README for the full list of known limitations and what's intentionally out of scope for now.
