1. Value Proposition of the Solution

a. Value Proposition of the Solution

To refine our value proposition, we reviewed existing educational and classroom management solutions that address parts of the problem space, but not the full combination of needs identified in our research with teachers in rural, under-resourced contexts.

Relevant Existing Solutions

Kolibri (Learning Equality)

Runs locally on low-cost or legacy devices and lets learners and educators access content and track progress without an internet connection. It is strong on offline content delivery, but its core purpose is serving openly licensed educational content rather than supporting the teacher's own day-to-day record of each student's learning.

T4 Education
Kolibri - Learning Equality repository

ClassDojo

Focuses on classroom communication, behavior tracking, and student portfolios shared with families. It assumes stable connectivity and devices on both the teacher's and families' side.

Google Classroom

Focuses on assignments, grading, and course organization. It is designed around reliable internet access and institutional accounts.

Seesaw

Focuses on student portfolios and family engagement. It depends on connectivity and on students or families having devices.

Colombia Aprende

The national portal of educational resources and teacher support content. It is a repository of materials rather than a tool for tracking individual student progress.

What Makes Our Solution Different

Most existing solutions solve only one part of the problem. Some deliver content offline, others manage assignments or communication, and others act as resource libraries. Few are designed around how rural teachers actually record and use information about their students' learning. Enad combines these capabilities in a single mobile experience built for teachers in under-resourced contexts.

Our app is differentiated by the following aspects:

  • It is designed around the reality of rural teachers (limited connectivity, shared or low-end devices, multi-grade classrooms, heavy administrative load), not around urban schools with institutional infrastructure.

  • It is offline-first. Teachers can register and consult student learning progress without a connection, and data syncs automatically when one is available.

  • It puts the teacher's workflow front and center, so tracking progress is the least amount of work. [e.g., fast entry of observations, by student learning profiles]

  • It turns collected data into actionable insight, giving teachers the information they need to know who is struggling and where support is needed, rather than leaving them with raw records.

  • It provides continuity from teacher to teacher, grade to grade, and school to school. [optional, if applicable]

Enhanced Value Proposition

The value proposition is to offer teachers in rural and under-resourced schools a lightweight mobile companion that turns the fragmented, paper-based tracking of student learning into continuous, usable knowledge about each student's progress. Unlike existing platforms that specialize in content delivery, classroom communication, or resource libraries, Enad unifies progress registration, offline operation, and actionable insight in a single teacher-centered tool.

This makes the solution especially valuable in rural contexts because it addresses not only access to content but also the visibility of learning. Teachers can identify who needs support and when, and act on it. By fitting the constraints of low-connectivity environments, the app contributes to reducing the educational gap between rural and urban students.

b. Value Generated by Smart Features

Smart features use data and learning models to move Enad from recording student progress to interpreting it. In rural schools, teachers often handle multi-grade classrooms with little time and no analytical support, so the value of these features lies in turning scarce teacher attention into better decisions.

Early Warning Insights

[e.g., trend detection on progress records]

The app detects students whose progress is stalling or declining before it becomes visible in a final grade.

Value: teachers intervene earlier, which reduces dropout and learning gaps for the students who most need support.

Personalized Support Suggestions

(e.g., recommended activities per student or group)

The app suggests reinforcement activities or multi-grade classroom groupings based on the progress recorded for each student.

Value: It replaces the pedagogical support that

Low-Friction Data Entry

[e.g., voice-to-text observations, quick-entry templates]

Teachers can register observations by speaking or with a few taps instead of writing long notes.

Value: it reduces administrative load, which is the main reason tracking data ends up incomplete or stays on paper.

Automatic Summaries and Reports

[e.g., per student and per class progress summaries]

The app turns raw records into readable summaries for teachers, families, or school administrators.

Value: it saves reporting time and makes learning progress visible to people who can act on it.

c. Value Generated by CAS Features

CAS features let Enad adapt to the situation in which the teacher is actually working. In rural settings, that situation is defined by unreliable connectivity, low-end devices, and irregular schedules, so context awareness is what makes the app usable rather than a nice extra.

Connectivity Awareness

[network status detection]

The app detects whether a connection is available, works fully offline, and syncs automatically when a stable connection returns, without teacher intervention.

Value: teachers never lose data or depend on the internet to do their job, which addresses the main barrier existing platforms ignore.

Device and Battery Awareness

[battery and storage state]

The app reduces background activity and sync frequency on low battery, and manages local storage carefully on low-end devices.

Value: It's still stable on the shared or older phones you find in these settings.

Time and Schedule Awareness

[class schedule, time of day]

The app asks for progress registration at natural points such as the end of a class or school day, and is silent otherwise. It builds a recording habit at the time information is freshest and doesn't interrupt teaching.

Location Awareness

[school or campus detection, optional]

The app recognizes when the teacher is at the school, so it can sync on the school's connection or link records to the right campus.

Value: it reduces manual configuration for teachers who move between multiple rural sedes.

How They Work Together

Smart features generate the insight, and CAS features make sure that insight is reliably produced and delivered in the teacher's real conditions. A prediction is useless if the data never syncs, and a reliable offline app is only a digital notebook without analysis. Together they let Enad give rural teachers timely, actionable knowledge about each student's learning, in the environment where they actually work.
