Menu a icone

A=B copia tutto. Lo split resta nella stessa banda.

Field Ops: park to park e summit to summit

Cluster

  • Nuova voce Cluster modes sulla MFK: All, CW, SSB, DIG, CW+DIG. È lo stesso filtro delle impostazioni.

Avvio

Modi digitali

  • Potenza minima 0,1 W.

Field Ops

  • I profili QRZ restano uguali su radio, configuratore web e app.
  • Their ref per park to park e summit to summit.

Install it by writing the image to the microSD. If your radio did not start with 0.128, this image fixes it: write it as usual, there is no need to go through older versions.

Your reports matter. Send them from Report on x6100-link.it, or from the radio with Settings > System > Diagnostics, Send.

Icon menus

  • APP opens the apps as a grid of icons; Modes and Settings are icon grids too, with an icon rail inside Settings. The MFK chooses, a press opens. The old menus are back with Settings > Display > INTERFACE > Icon menus.

Independent VFOs

  • Settings > Station > Independent VFOs (also on the web configurator): VFO A and VFO B each keep their own band, frequency and mode. A=B copies everything. Split stays within one band.

Field Ops: park to park and summit to summit

  • The activation log also takes the other station's reference (park, summit, bunker, hill); when it is in the spots it is proposed by itself. The log shows P2P or S2S, the ADIF has the standard fields. Also from the web configurator and the app.

Cluster

  • New Cluster modes item on the MFK: All, CW, SSB, DIG, CW+DIG. It is the same filter as in the settings.

Start-up

  • Fixed start-up: some radios stayed stuck at power-on with 0.128.
  • At every power-on the radio checks and repairs the part of the microSD with settings and logs, when it was switched off badly.

WiFi

  • WiFi driver updated with PMF (802.11w) support: it also joins routers that ask for it.
  • When joining fails, the radio retries on its own up to four times before asking for the password.
  • Fewer false "check the password" with the right password.
  • If the WiFi stops finding any network, the radio restarts the WiFi by itself.
  • The password is typed on the QWERTY keyboard.
  • WiFi also finds networks on channels 12 and 13.
  • With more than 10 networks in reach the list goes in pages.
  • A WPA3-only network is told clearly: set it to WPA2 or WPA2/WPA3.

Band plan

  • Turning the VFO into another band plan segment switches to that segment's mode (CW to SSB, for example). Turn it off in Settings > Station > Mode from band plan, also on the web configurator.
  • Band edges edited on the web configurator show on the waterfall at once.

Digital modes

  • Minimum power 0.1 W.
  • While transmitting, the bottom strip also shows the length: "5 / 15 s" in JS8, FT8, FT4 and WSPR.
  • PSK and Olivia transmit on the frequency chosen on the waterfall, without moving the VFO.
  • FT8: a QSO is logged on 73 even when your RR73 was missed; the Auto switch applies as soon as the window opens.
  • FT8, FT4, FT2 and JS8 reports in the standard signed two-digit format (+01, -05) in ADIF and in the day log.

Field Ops

  • During an activation, FT8, FT4, FT2 and JS8 QSOs go into the activation log, with the site references.
  • Upload a log to QRZ from the web configurator and the app.

WeFax: US stations from the NOAA schedule added (NMF, NMG, NMC, NOJ, KVM70).

CAT, wfview and TX

  • CAT: several commands arriving together are all carried out (a PTT off could be lost before).
  • wfview: if the client drops while transmitting, the radio stops transmitting.
  • If the digital modes audio stalls, TX stops after 3 seconds.
  • Recorder and screenshots more reliable.

Spectrum: the filter band on the spectrum follows the zoom, as on the waterfall.

S-meter: correct readings with PRE and ATT on and with the RF gain turned down.

Battery: during TX and for 30 s after, the percentage stays at the reading taken in RX.

Bluetooth headphones: the speaker stays muted also when the program restarts with headphones connected.

Settings and apps

  • Dropdown lists move one line per click, no jumps.
  • The settings page key opens the first tab of the new page.
  • Bands: choosing a band closes the app, as the Modes menu does.

Web configurator

  • Remote: 500 Hz tuning step.
  • The Update card is gone from the home page: updates are done from the radio.

X6100 Link (Android app) 0.129

  • Faster PTT: the radio keys as soon as you press.
  • The PTT button turns solid red only when the radio is really transmitting.
  • ATU key, with tune.
  • PTT on a phone hardware key (SET > PTT > LEARN).
  • QRZ profiles stay the same on the radio, the web configurator and the app.
  • Mic filter against rumble and thumps.
  • Their ref for park to park and summit to summit.
  • eQSL: each logged QSO is sent by itself; the EQSL button also sends the activation logs.
  • Foldable screens (Galaxy Z Fold): the page scrolls and the Log button stays visible.
  • The QRZ station details no longer shrink to tiny text.

  • ELEctric Love: display LCD retroilluminato in stile portatile QRP: cifre a sette segmenti, inchiostro su vetro arancio-ambra, layout fisso in ogni modo operativo.

  • Font Tech e Tech Mono (zero barrato).

Please read first

Install it by writing the image to the microSD. This version also changes the system under the interface (WiFi driver, libraries, fonts, the two new themes), so it cannot be installed with the update-without-microSD: write the image the usual way.

After writing the image, if a Bluetooth device won't connect (headphones, keyboard, PC for CAT), first remove X6100 from the paired devices on the phone, PC or headphones, then pair it again.

Your reports matter. Send them from Report on x6100-link.it, or from the radio with Settings > Info > Diagnostics, Send.

Two new themes

  • ELEctric Love: a backlit QRP-portable-style LCD look: seven-segment digits, ink on orange-amber glass, the same layout in every mode. The passband graphic follows the real filter width and shift; in CW the decoded text runs along the bottom row and a zero-beat indicator sits next to the last VFO digit.
  • DarkLED: amber LED digits on black, bar meters, annunciators that light only when they mean something, and a bright red TX lamp.
  • Both have an ATU annunciator that blinks while the tuner works.

Text entry: two new ways, picked by the field

  • Short fields (callsign, locator, frequency, names): written with the knobs. VFO moves the cursor along the text, MFK rolls the character at that spot. A callsign takes a few seconds without leaving the knobs.
  • Long text (macros, CW messages, comments): a phone-style on-screen keyboard with big keys, ABC/abc case key and a symbols page; VFO moves between keys, press to type.
  • Both follow the active theme's colours. With a USB or Bluetooth keyboard connected the on-screen one is still there: use either at any time.
  • The text box is taller: J no longer looks like I.

CW from the keyboard: KEY 3:3 > Kbd sends chooses between sending the line on Enter (On Enter, as before) and sending each character as you type (As typed), like a CW keyboard wired to the keyer. Also on the web configurator.

Band plans by region: IARU Region 1, 2, 3 and USA. On Auto the radio picks the right one from your callsign prefix; still editable.

Birdies

  • Birdies are spurious carriers made by the radio's own oscillators: fixed lines on the spectrum, a whistle in SSB.
  • Birdie Cal (APP, page 3) runs a receive-only scan with the antenna off or a dummy load, one band or all. A narrow peak at least 10 dB over the noise counts as a birdie.
  • With Birdie marks + notch on, each birdie gets a tick on the spectrum, and in USB, LSB and AM a narrow notch removes it when it falls in the passband. Not in CW, digital modes or with your own DNF on.

OTA updates: when an update is ready for your radio, an Install now / Later popup shows. With an app open, the install waits.

Spectrum and waterfall

  • Waterfall auto level follows the noise floor: no pumping, no flicker.
  • The waterfall keeps scrolling while you turn the VFO and no longer tears half-way down.
  • A separate colour for the DNF band on the spectrum.
  • CW tuning bars in the frequency strip, shorter decoder panel.

S-meter: below S1 the bar stays dark instead of always lighting the first segment.

Tidier settings

  • The menu is reorganised into fewer, function-grouped tabs (Station, Display, Audio, TX, CW & Keys, Spots, Network, System).
  • New switches and controls, in one consistent style and each theme's colours.

PSK

  • Transmit now follows receive: you transmit where you are listening on the waterfall. A "Lock TX" option holds it in place when you want.

Display and settings

  • Two battery boxes: percent, time left, battery or external volts.
  • Tech and Tech Mono fonts (slashed zero).
  • Black Metal and Total Black themes removed: radios using them start on IU1WXY.
  • Settings > Wireless is now Settings > Network; the ETHERNET section shows only while a USB Ethernet adapter is plugged in.
  • The web configurator opens faster.

Voice keyer: MSG monitor lets you hear the message in the headphones while it goes out, at the level you like.

WiFi and Bluetooth

  • rtl8723bu driver fixed: the link no longer drops during the WPA2 handshake (the false "wrong password").
  • If the network refuses the connection the radio tries again, and the message says what to check.
  • Bluetooth keyboards that ask for a passkey now pair.

Field Ops: WWFF, and only the programs you use switched on.

Web configurator: General page with Field Ops, CW messages, Macros, Log, Display and Ethernet cards. Theme, font and spectrum apply at once, no restart.

Fixes

  • SWR protection no longer counts below 0.5 W, so SSB voice is not cut any more.
  • An FT8/FT4 message like "HI ALL +C" no longer closes the GUI.
  • JS8 starts faster from the second run.
