Pi Durable Components 0.9.0
Migration
- Sites now returns its selected payload directly instead of
{ ok, operation, result }. Errors are redacted actionable text rather than JSON envelopes. Update callers that parse the old envelope. - Context presentation hosts must use
details.filesanddetails.filefor full note metadata. Model-facing note results omit bookkeeping and return the complete selected text by default. Custom ranked-history implementations must consume iterable or async iterable items rather than assume an array. - Browser and Web expose structured results. Web's normalised search response retains
output_textandsearch_resultsrather than arbitrary outer provider fields. - Code and all Notebook modes share tool names. Select one execution component per agent.
What's included
- All 25 standalone components, including the new TS Notebook and JS Notebook. TS uses a Rust-backed compiler and retains live closures and classes. JS persists full QuickJS VM checkpoints. Both support profiles, pins, hooks and isolated candidates.
- Deno Notebook isolated candidates, Context ranked history and complete Notes reads, native voice lifecycle updates, and bounded SSE recovery. Context rollover can await a host-provided voice refresh without replaying uncertain side effects.
- The Linux x64 GipPity helper retains the glibc 2.34 baseline. TS Notebook and JS Notebook require Node, not Bun. TS requires its native compiler's optional dependencies. Execution environments and shell access must be explicitly granted.
Pi Stuff's optional destructive history pruning is not included. Durable 1.4 does not expose transcript-entry deletion through its public API. SQLite does not load retired history at open; JSONL reconstructs retained history in memory.
Validation
The complete gate passed lint, all 25 builds, strict TypeScript, Knip, 28 retained workflows and 25 dry-packs. JS Notebook's own compilation uses a scoped skipLibCheck exception for an upstream QuickJS declaration defect. A fresh scripts-disabled consumer installed all 25 release archives, imported every package root and checked all 49 public declaration exports with skipLibCheck: false. Its installed streaming history ranker passed a real SQLite probe. Real V8, Deno, Node, Rust compiler and QuickJS probes cover the component boundaries documented in docs/parity.md.
The release publishes 25 archives, artifacts.json and SHA256SUMS. Live provider accounts, audio devices and non-Linux execution were not revalidated for this release.
Pi Durable Components 0.8.1
Context's headless presentation API now preserves note pagination metadata, so custom UIs can retrieve the rest of a long note instead of losing its continuation cursor.
- Preserve
total_charsandnext_offset_charsin note detail snapshots. - Reject invalid character counts and continuation offsets.
- Continue accepting older snapshots without either field.
- Document how to load subsequent pages with the same path and line range.
All 23 package versions and install links are aligned at 0.8.1. The other components have no runtime changes. Pi Durable, pi-ai and Chord remain pinned to 1.4.0. Packages are distributed as GitHub release archives, not through the npm registry.
Install
npm install https://github.com/IgorWarzocha/pi-durable-components/releases/download/v0.8.1/howaboua-pi-durable-context-0.8.1.tgzartifacts.json lists all 23 archives and their SHA-256 hashes. SHA256SUMS also covers the manifest.
Validation
The fix passed the full repository gate: lint, 23 builds, strict TypeScript, dependency analysis, all 28 retained runtime workflows and 23 dry-pack checks. Final release metadata passed lint and actual package checks. A fresh scripts-disabled consumer installed all 23 release archives, imported all package roots and typechecked all 45 declaration exports without skipLibCheck.
A disposable real Durable Harness probe reproduced the lost pagination fields before the fix. The installed release reconstructed full ASCII notes and Unicode line selections through presentation-driven paging, checked empty and final pages, accepted legacy snapshots and rejected invalid cursors. No permanent tests were added. Live providers, audio devices and non-Linux runtimes were not revalidated.
Pi Durable Components 0.8.0
All 23 components are now available as GitHub release archives, with every package version aligned at 0.8.0. Nothing is published to the npm registry.
Newly released
Git, UI SDK, Sites, Guardian, Pulses, Settings, Grok Voice, GipPity Voice, Dictation and Nested AGENTS.md join the existing 13 packages. Each package guide includes its install URL and the host capabilities it needs. Installing a package does not grant credentials, microphone access or deployment permission.
Changes
- Context safety: failed checkpoint writes no longer authorise rollover through an older save. Native calls, Code and Notebook share bounded, nonduplicated Notes and History results. Large notes have Unicode-safe continuation pages. Fixed checkpoint guidance no longer repeats with every note update.
- Native workflows: restored Notebook retention controls, scoped Context visibility and archive recovery, agent sharing defaults, Browser route persistence, manual Board consolidation and Pulses authoring and execution.
- Provider and execution: prepared-request keepalive scheduling, nested-call presentation and retained receipt recovery, original image detail, and the
smol-tomldenial-of-service dependency fix. - Guidance and voice: Skills guidance defaults on, scoped
AGENTS.mddiscovery, portable dictation configuration and cached GipPity continuity summaries.
Compatibility and installation
The Durable components continue to target Pi Durable, pi-ai and Chord 1.4.0. Native packages require Node.js 22.19 or newer. Optional UI rendering peers and service-specific grants are documented in the package guides.
Durable 1.4 opens older SQLite storage by migrating it to schema version 2. Older Durable runtimes cannot reopen that database. Upgrade the host and components together and plan recovery before opening existing storage. Earlier runtimes also cannot resume sleeping tasks in JSONL storage.
Install only the components you need. For example:
npm install https://github.com/IgorWarzocha/pi-durable-components/releases/download/v0.8.0/howaboua-pi-durable-nested-agents-md-0.8.0.tgzartifacts.json lists all 23 archives and their SHA-256 hashes. SHA256SUMS also covers the manifest.
Validation
The repository gate passed lint, 23 builds, strict TypeScript, dependency analysis, all 28 retained runtime workflows and 23 dry-pack checks after the rename. Final release metadata passed lint, TypeScript and dependency checks. A fresh scripts-disabled consumer installed all 23 final archives, imported all 23 package roots, typechecked all 45 declaration exports without skipLibCheck, and resolved the Worker WASM asset.
The Context fixes were additionally exercised through the real Durable Harness, V8 Code and Deno Notebook. No permanent tests were added. Live providers, audio devices and non-Linux runtime behaviour were not revalidated for this release. See the parity evidence for those boundaries.
Complete upstream sync coverage
This corrects upstream-sync omissions found by checking extension changelogs and merged PRs against the shipped components.
- Board catch-up and Context rollover instructions retain their chronological instruction role. Peer-authored Board messages remain user content.
- Context exposes configurable idle intervals and task-boundary reminders rather than silently fixing the policy at 25 minutes and capacity warnings alone.
- Notebook carries the missing retained-state, pruning and sequential-execution guidance.
- Skills returns plain text inside Code and Notebook while preserving structured read evidence for hosts.
Updated packages: Board 0.2.1, Context 0.7.1, Notebook 0.7.1 and Skills 0.7.1. Other public archives retain their 0.7.0 versions. All require matching Pi Durable, pi-ai and Chord 1.4.0.
The upstream coverage ledger links the releases and merged PRs, distinguishing carried behaviour from native equivalents and host-owned capabilities.
The 1.4 storage warning still applies: opening old SQLite storage migrates it to schema version 2, which Durable 1.3 and earlier cannot reopen. Board summaries remain opt-in through summary: {}.
Archives are GitHub release assets, not npm-registry publications. artifacts.json and SHA256SUMS identify the 13 attached archives. The full local-development package set is generated by bun run pack.
Validation: independent review with its successor-settlement finding fixed, full repository gate with 28 retained workflows, 22 rebuilt packages and a fresh consumer checking all 40 public declaration exports. Installed-archive probes exercised Board chronology and real V8/Deno nested Skills calls. No permanent tests were added. Live providers, audio devices and non-Linux platforms were not revalidated.
Pi Durable 1.4 components
Rebuilt components for Pi Durable 1.4.0, with matching pi-ai and Chord requirements. Twelve components advance to 0.7.0 and standalone Board to 0.2.0.
This release carries the applicable extension updates: native transcript-tool folding, nested execution termination and call provenance, Notebook startup guidance, session-scoped provider diagnostics, Board opt-in summaries, concise notes receipts and Skills read metadata. New Pi-only Observatory and Suggestions products are not included.
Upgrading
Upgrade Durable, pi-ai, Chord and installed components together. Opening existing SQLite storage migrates it to schema version 2. Durable 1.3 and earlier cannot reopen it. Older runtimes also cannot resume new sleeping tasks in JSONL. Plan recovery before opening existing storage.
Board summary generation now defaults off. Pass createBoard({ summary: {} }) or an explicit summary model configuration to retain it. Existing saved summaries remain readable. The presentation summary preview no longer includes provider, model or reasoning fields.
Hosts defining their own documents must supply checkpointWhen. Custom task integrations must handle sleeping, replace TaskRuntime.sleep with checkpointed sleepUntil, and preserve the new clock and telemetry APIs. See Pi's release notes.
npm install https://github.com/IgorWarzocha/pi-durable-components/releases/download/v0.7.0/howaboua-pi-durable-apply-patch-0.7.0.tgzThese are GitHub release archives, not npm-registry packages. Agents 0.5 users must still install standalone Board and migrate saved selections before resume. See the Board guide.
Git, UI, Sites, Guardian, Pulses, Settings and the voice integrations remain local-development packages, not release assets. The full local artifact index is generated by bun run pack.
SHA256SUMS and artifacts.json identify the attached archives. Detailed validation and platform limits are recorded in the parity evidence.
Pi Durable Components 0.6.0
Rebuilt packages for Pi Durable 1.3.0, with matching pi-ai and Chord requirements. The downloadable archives now match the supported source version. Earlier release assets are unchanged.
The twelve existing components are version 0.6.0. Standalone Board 0.1.0 is included for the first time. This release includes the current tool contracts, headless presentation exports, Context lifecycle updates and independent Board integration.
Upgrading
Upgrade Durable, pi-ai and Chord to 1.3.0 together with the components. These packages are GitHub release archives, not npm-registry packages.
npm install https://github.com/IgorWarzocha/pi-durable-components/releases/download/v0.6.0/howaboua-pi-durable-apply-patch-0.6.0.tgzAgents 0.6.0 no longer bundles Board. If you used Board with Agents 0.5.0, install standalone Board and add its extension to saved roots and workers before resuming them. Preserve the existing Board documents. Do not select standalone Board alongside bundled Agents 0.5.0. See the migration guide.
The remaining local-development packages, including Pulses and the voice integrations, are not release assets.
Validation
Repository lint, strict TypeScript and Knip passed. All thirteen packages were rebuilt and packed through the supported workflow, including asset checks and public Node imports. A fresh consumer installed the archives and typechecked their public exports and Durable 1.3 tool registrations with skipLibCheck: false. Packed versions, peer requirements, install links and SHA-256 digests were checked.
This release pass did not run runtime tests or live-provider acceptance. Earlier runtime evidence remains identified separately in the parity notes.
SHA256SUMS and artifacts.json identify the attached archives.
Pi Durable Components 0.5.0
All twelve components are rebuilt for Pi Durable 1.1.0, with matching pi-ai and Chord peer requirements. Install links in every package README now point to these archives.
Includes nested-tool access to the host Models collection, upstream output-window compatibility and the current Worker, Web, Agents, Context and OpenAI Responses implementations.
Upgrade the host upstream packages to 1.1.0 together with these components. Custom Durable storage implementations must support the new ordered scans.
Validation: all 48 workflows passed, including native V8, Deno and workerd, plus strict TypeScript, lint, Knip, twelve builds and package checks. Packed manifests and README links were verified. Earlier release assets remain unchanged.
Worker Code 0.1.0: bounded execution on Workers
Bounded QuickJS WASM execution through ordinary Pi Durable tools, with exec/wait, immutable module snapshots, pure evaluation and impure tool-owned handlers. Includes pinned WASM and upstream license notices. Real workerd workflows cover isolation, limits, concurrency, hooks, results, cancellation and isolate-wide admission. This is a separate Worker execution mode, not native Code or Notebook parity.
Web 0.3.2
Preserve service-issued cookies across native Worker requests and redirects. Add bounded host-owned cookie snapshots and explicit egress capabilities, with credential-safe results and no hidden fallback. Live endpoint access remains account- and backend-dependent.
Web 0.3.1
Add native Cloudflare Worker transport for subscription-backed web search, with bounded responses, cancellation, and credential-safe redirects. Node transport remains supported.
