###v0.8.4 (2026-06-01)

  • Chore (version): make package.json the single source of truth for the plugin version so it can no longer drift across files. The front-end reads it via a Vite define (src/ts/version.ts), render-time PHP pages read a build-emitted version file (modernui_plugin_version()), and a new npm run version:check guard — wired into CI and release — fails the build if package.json, package-lock.json, and the .plg <!ENTITY version> disagree.
  • Fix (settings): the Settings → Theme "About" footer and the shell user-menu now show the real plugin version instead of stale hardcoded literals (v0.7.0 (Phase 7) / v0.4.2), and the user-menu's GitHub link points at the real repo.
  • Docs: README gains a screenshot tour of the rebuilt surfaces (Dashboard, Main, Docker folder/tag management).
