The first release of Braid for Android: lend your phone's mobile data to Braid on your computer as an extra download path.

Download braid-android-0.1.0.apk. It is one APK for every Android phone (arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, x86), because the app has no native code. It needs Android 8.0 or newer and Braid for your computer.

What's in it

  • Mobile data and Wi-Fi offered as separate lanes, each bound to its own network. A lane never falls back to another.
  • Bytes relayed untouched: no compression, caching or retries.
  • Pairing by scanning the code Braid shows, by Braid's Scan with a confirmation on the phone, or by typing an address.
  • Codes accepted only for computers on the phone's own network. Keys stored as hashes, and Forget cuts a computer off at once.
  • Per-network switches, an optional mobile data limit per session, and live activity: speed per network, data used, and open connections.
  • Keeps sharing with the screen off, as a foreground service with a visible notification.
  • Light and dark themes in Braid's colours.

Verify your download

SHA-256 of the APK is listed alongside it. The APK is signed with InfoDive Labs' release key. Every release carries the same certificate, whose SHA-256 fingerprint is:
