bantamkit 0.34.1 — clearer READMEs, easier to find

Available as bantamkit-mcp@0.34.1 on npm and bantamkit==0.34.1 on PyPI.

No behaviour change. This release changes documentation and package metadata only. The server, its 12 tools, the CLI flags and every error message are the same as 0.34.0. If 0.34.0 works for you, you don't need to update.

What changed

  • The three READMEs start with a linked Contents table. This covers the GitHub repo page, the npm page and the PyPI page. Every topic links to its section.
  • One setup section per host. Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and GitHub Copilot in VS Code each get the same five steps:
    1. the command
    2. the config file on each OS
    3. the entry it writes
    4. how to confirm it worked
    5. how to undo or re-run
  • Install routes are split. Install once and run offline, npx (or pipx) at every launch, and Python each have their own section.
  • One Configuration table lists every flag and environment variable, with defaults taken from --help and the code.
  • Nothing was dropped. Measurement write-ups, dated notes and transcripts moved to docs/install.md and docs/usage.md. Each README links to them.
  • Corrections.
    • The PyPI page now lists all 12 served tools.
    • The npm page's asset-pack figures are remeasured: 91 files, 238,751 bytes.
    • The conformance count reads 8,130 cases.
    • The Configuration metavars now match --help.
  • Links work on the registries. Links that leave the npm and PyPI pages are absolute GitHub URLs, so they resolve on npmjs.com and pypi.org.
  • Registry search metadata. npm and PyPI now carry a description that names the MCP server and its hosts, and the same 13 keywords. Project links: npm has homepage, repository and issues; PyPI has homepage, repository, issues and documentation.
  • The GitHub repository is public. It now has a description, a homepage (the npm page) and topics. Installing from the repo over HTTPS needs no authentication.
