Vanta v1.8
Downloads
| File | Best for | Size |
|---|---|---|
Vanta.exe |
Most users — one file, run and play. Also what the built-in auto-updater delivers. | 94.6 MB |
Vanta-1.8-standalone.zip |
If your antivirus dislikes single-file executables — unzip anywhere and run Vanta.exe from the folder. |
36 MB |
Tip
Prefer the standalone ZIP if Windows Defender complains about the single .exe. Keep the whole unzipped folder together — the executable needs its files beside it.
What's new in v1.8
- Native compilation — built with Nuitka instead of PyInstaller: real native code, no runtime self-extraction into a random
%TEMP%\_MEIxxxxfolder on every start - Zero raw Windows API calls — every
ctypescall was removed from the codebase: taskbar geometry now comes from Qt screen metrics, RAM detection from psutil, and the launch watchdog reads the game's own log output - Standardized process handling — explicit stdio redirections and standard process flags on every subprocess
- Verifiable downloads — SHA-256 published here and on getvanta.xyz

Important
Defender's machine-learning heuristic may flag the single-file build as Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml. This is a false positive — a known issue with unsigned single-file executables.
Vanta is MIT-licensed open source — every line is auditable. It contains no telemetry and talks only to Mojang's servers, the Modrinth API, and minotar.net for skins.
If flagged:
- Restore the file from quarantine — Windows Security → Protection history
- Report the false positive at microsoft.com/wdsi/filesubmission — choose Software developer
- Or simply use the standalone ZIP above
Code-signed builds are planned.
v1.7 users: the built-in auto-updater will offer this update automatically.
