2.0.0
pkHouse 2.0.0
A new interface on every screen, the Online GTS, and updates that install themselves.
Your banks, saves and cards are untouched: the files are the same as in 1.12.0, and nothing needs converting.
A new interface
Every screen has been redrawn, from the profile picker to the smallest dialog. Nothing was taken away along the way: every feature, every piece of information and every button hint from 1.12.0 is still there.
- Profile and game selectors: the game list with filters, a detail panel per game (save found, last backup, backups on the SD card, box format), and tiles for the Online GTS and All banks
- Backing up is its own step, with progress, before the bank picker opens
- Bank picker: how full each bank is, a preview of its boxes before opening it, and in All banks the banks grouped by game, ZL / ZR jumping from one game to the next
- Box view: the save and the bank side by side, and a details bar under them with the moves, perfect IVs, EV total, trainer and origin of the Pokemon under the cursor
- Box overview (ZL / ZR): every box at a glance
- Pokemon summary: laid out like a card - everything the old detail view showed, PID, EC, TID / SID / TSV, ribbons and marks included
- Menu (+): tools on the left, settings and every way out on the right, from the safest to the most final
- Dialogs: releasing a Pokemon or deleting a bank that still holds some now asks you to hold A for two seconds
- Quitting with + on the selectors and the GTS now asks first, since + opens the menu everywhere else
One design
The seven colour themes are replaced by this one design. The theme setting stays in the menu, so new themes can be added later.
The console's own font
pkHouse now uses the Switch's system font instead of carrying its own, which makes the app smaller. Should the console not provide it, pkHouse says so on start instead of showing an empty screen.
Search
- Species (a one-screen letter + list picker), OT name, gender, level range, shiny, egg, alpha (in the games that have them), perfect IVs from 1 to 6, ribbons / marks
- Results as a list you can jump from, or highlighted in the boxes
- The D-pad moves between the filters, A changes the one you are on
Cards
- Cards now start their file name with the Pokedex number and form ("0111-00 - Rhyhorn - LGPE - [S] - ....png"), so the import list shows the right sprite before a card is even read, and sorts in Pokedex order
- The import list shows what each card holds once it has been read: species, gender, level, trainer and game
- Shiny, alpha and egg marks on every card in the list
- The card image itself has not changed. Cards made with earlier versions import exactly as before
Wondercards
- The list shows the card number, the title and region read from the file name, and which cards take your trainer as their OT
- A detail pane says where the Pokemon will go, and why it cannot when a card needs a save rather than a bank
Online GTS
A public board for cards. Leave a Pokemon on it for anyone to take, and take what other people have left. Open it from the tile at the top of the game list - the board carries every game at once, and what you take off it is saved as a card.
- Browse: 60 Pokemon a page, laid out like a box, L / R to page through the board
- The details bar shows what the board knows about the Pokemon under the cursor without downloading it: legality, the game it belongs to, nature, ability, ball, IV and EV totals, trainer, and the depositor's note or how many people kept it
- A opens the full summary, and Y saves it as a card, ready to import into a save
- Search: species, game, ball, minimum IV total, shiny, egg, alpha, legality, and newest or most downloaded
- Deposit: the cards you have exported, from every game, grouped by game (ZL / ZR to jump between them), each read and shown in full before it goes up
Legality
Every deposit is listed straight away as "not checked", and a legality checker goes over the board every 15 minutes.
- The board shows what has been checked by default: legal Pokemon, and illegal ones too, so you can see why they were refused
- Each Pokemon is framed in the colour of its verdict
- X, or A on an illegal one, shows the checker's full report
- Only a Pokemon that passed can be downloaded. Anything illegal, not yet checked, or that could not be checked stays on the board to look at, but cannot be taken
Updates
pkHouse now checks for a new release when it starts, in the background, and offers to install it on the profile or game selector.
- The download is checked before anything is replaced, the current version is kept until the new one has been verified, and pkHouse restarts straight into it
- If anything goes wrong, pkHouse says why and the version you are running stays in place
- The offer is made once per launch; turned down, X on the About screen brings it back
- The bundled wondercards are updated along with the app. Your banks, backups and cards are never touched
- The About screen (-) shows whether you are up to date, X checks right away, and Y turns the check at launch on or off
- The setting is a file you can also change yourself: sdmc:/config/pkHouse/autoUPD_on.cfg or autoUPD_off.cfg
This update itself has to be installed by hand: 1.12.0 does not know how to update itself. Extract the release zip to the root of your SD card, as before. From 2.0.0 on, pkHouse updates itself.
