ProxyBridge v4.2.0 (Windows)

✨ What's new

⏯️ Main switch: pause ProxyBridge without closing it (#219)

  • Proxy → Enable ProxyBridge, or right-click the tray icon, switches every rule off and on again.
  • While paused, new connections go out directly (proxy rules and block rules don't apply). The window title and tray tooltip show (PAUSED).
  • Connections already being proxied keep working until they end.
  • ProxyBridge always starts enabled; the switch isn't remembered between runs.

🔎 Search in the Proxy Rules window (#248)

  • A search box at the top right filters the list as you type. A rule is shown when it contains every word you type (case-insensitive) in its name, applications, hosts, ports, protocol, action or proxy, for example chrome github.
  • Ctrl+F jumps to the box, typing while the list has focus starts a search, Enter / Down go to the matching rules, Esc clears.
  • Edit, Clone, Remove and the enable check boxes work on the rules you see. Move Up / Move Down are only available when no search is active.

🌐 One Target Hosts field for IPs and domains (#251)

  • IP addresses, ranges and domain names now go in the same field and can be mixed: 10.*.*.*; github.com; *.google.com.
  • The box is multiline, up to 8191 characters (it was about 254). One entry per line is fine; line breaks are only for readability and ; separates entries.
  • A rule matches when the connection's IP matches an IP entry or its domain matches a domain entry. Before, a rule with both an IP list and a domain list needed both to match.
  • A domain typed in the IP part, which used to silently match nothing, now just works.
  • Profile files still save TargetHosts and TargetDomains, so profiles stay compatible with macOS, Linux and older versions.

🏠 "Also proxy localhost traffic" is now per rule

  • The global Localhost via Proxy menu item is gone. Each PROXY rule has its own Also proxy localhost traffic checkbox, off by default, so one app (for example a browser) can have its 127.0.0.1 / ::1 traffic proxied while another (for example curl) keeps it direct.
  • Existing profiles keep behaving the same: an old profile's global setting becomes the default for each of its rules.

🛠️ Smaller changes and fixes

  • Text conversions in profile loading and saving are always properly terminated and sized for long values; a corrupt or oversized profile can no longer overflow a buffer.
  • The Rules list is wider for Hosts, and the Domains column is gone (merged into Hosts).
