MCD2 Save Editor v1.18.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 18 Oct 01:35

What's new in 1.18.0

  • Soul Storms. A new window, Menu → World → Soul Storms…, shows the storm that's on now and when each area gets its next one, on your PC's clock.

Soul Storms: the storm on now, and the next one in each area

  • From the game's own timetable, which icicle1133 sent: a storm every 40 minutes that lasts 20, in seven areas in turn. It needs no save, and nothing is fetched.

  • The Sift's areas go by their names: Singer's Meadow, Humbler Huskland and Lullaby Hills, in Story progress, the World map and the play recorder.

  • An AI assistant can ask too, with a new tool: soul_storms.

  • Two more enchantments, and one more effect tier, from players' saves: Frost Crescent III, Tumbleshot III and Elemental Protection I. Prickly I is the only tier left unseen.

What's new in 1.17.0

  • Next step. A new button in Menu → World → Story progress… moves a quest on by one step, the way the game does: it begins a quest that's available, and finishes the step an active one is on.

Story progress: the Next step button, and the steps of the quest picked

  • It follows the game's own order. Steps come one after the other, several at once, or as a choice. Replayed against 126 changes the game made in recordings, the editor reaches the same save each time.

  • Checked in the game. A quest moved on three steps with Next step loaded just as it was saved, on its fourth step.

  • Where it stops. One quest has a choice between steps, which no save has shown under way. There the editor says so and leaves the quest as it is.

  • An AI assistant can do it too: change_quest has a new action, next_step.

  • Every quest by the game's name, and each step in the game's words (Defeat the monsters, Open the gate), from the game's own quest text that icicle1133 sent.

What's new in 1.16.2

  • Which quests come back, put right. 1.16.1 said the game's four golem quests. It is one of them, The Trembling Golem, and the eight boss fights that can be fought again. Story progress says so on each.

Story progress on The Trembling Golem: the window says the game lets a hero do this quest again

  • Every step to defeat enemies has its number. The last fourteen are in. A quest that was finished without them reads finish again.

  • Finish it lists what follows every quest, not only the six that a play recording had shown.

  • Where this comes from. The game's own quest tables, which icicle1133 read out of the game and sent. They agree with everything the editor had learned from saves.

  • Where this comes from. The game's own quest tables, which icicle1133 read out of the game and sent. They agree with everything the editor had learned from saves.

What's new in 1.16.1

  • Finish all. In Menu → World → Story progress…, every group of quests has Finish all on its own line, and Finish the whole game… finishes every quest the editor knows. Both ask first.

Story progress: Finish all on a group's line, and Finish the whole game at the bottom

  • A finished quest gets its steps' numbers. 1.16.0 left out some of the numbers a save holds with finished steps. Such a quest now reads finish again: finish it once more, or use Finish all.

  • Discover the whole map. A new button in Menu → World → World map… lifts the fog from every region the editor knows, the ones your hero hasn't been to as well.

  • Open the shortcuts and the key gates. Two more buttons there: one moves the rocks that block a way round, the other opens the gates a key opens, with their locks and keys.

The world map: its three new buttons, and what the hero hasn't found as hollow dots

  • The map shows more. Doors, stations and chest spots your hero hasn't found are on it as hollow dots, and rocks, keys and gates where a play recording has placed them.

  • The play recorder says when a rock, a key, a lock or a gate changes, and lists them in its summary.

  • Checked in the game. It took a hero with every quest finished, the whole map discovered and the key gates opened just as saved.

  • An AI assistant can do these too, with three new tools: finish_quests, discover_map and open_shortcuts_and_gates.

  • The editor learns what a quest opens. Share item IDs… now tells which quests your recordings saw the game open after one, and the number saved with a finished step.

  • An AI assistant can do the same, with three new tools: list_quests, change_quest and start_at_station.

  • Suggest something. Menu → Share and suggest → Suggest something… is a place to leave an idea for the editor, or to say what it gets wrong.

  • A shorter menu. Pictures, World, Share and suggest, and Updates are submenus now, like Look.

Some quests come back on its map, because the game offers them again: one golem quest and the boss fights, as 1.16.2 puts right. (This line first said the four golem quests.)

  • An AI assistant can do these too, with three new tools: finish_quests, discover_map and open_shortcuts_and_gates.

The editor showing the game's item pictures

  • What's new can show pictures. After an update it waits for you to close it, so the news isn't missed.

  • Two more effect tiers count as seen, on darklynkttv's and hayden-xyz's word: Deflection I and Swiftness I. Two of the 180 are left.

  • Two more doors in the Frozen Highlands, from hayden-xyz's list.

What's new in 1.15.1

  • Soulstorm Enhanced. Tick it in Change effects… and the game shows the item as a Soul Storm reward. Found in regnirok's list, and checked in the game.
  • Every Unique comes with its own effect now: 116 of 116. The last one, the Packleader Paws', was in berwulf's list.
  • Dynamo can be put on armor, at tier III. The Melee damage kit and the Best armor preset now put it on.
  • Thundering III is saved as 0.5 now, the tier's number in the game's table and in a player's save.
  • Share this recording… in the play recorder sends what a recording found, without the date, the time of day or where your saves are.
  • The editor knows much more of the world: 43 quests, 194 doors and 21 minecart stations, from regnirok's list.
  • A new enchantment, the one a save calls Multi Potion, at tier III. Twenty more effect tiers count as seen, so Best for picks from them.
  • Shorter notes. These keep to the main things, for the newest version and the two before it. Every version, in full, is in the changelog.

What's new in 1.15.0

  • World map. Menu → World map… shows the ground your hero has explored, the doors it has found, and how far it has got in the story.
  • Play recorder. Menu → Play recorder… writes down what the game saves while you play, and puts what it sees on the map.
  • A second look: Liquid Glass. Menu → Look switches between it and Original, the look the editor still opens in.
  • Launch game. A button next to Save to game starts the game for you.
  • Kits enchant every piece they add, once your hero has unlocked the Enchantsmith.
  • Five enchantments go by the game's names: Crash Landing, Ender Mines, Lightning Surge, Power Amplifier and Soul Blast.
  • Share item IDs… also lists what your saves show of the game's world (quests, doors, minecart stations). A tick box leaves that out.
  • What's new. The first time a new version opens, it shows what changed. Menu → What's new… shows it again.

What's new in 1.14.2

  • All 32 enchantment books can be added. The last one's ID was in lists players had already sent.
  • Poison Fog can be put on an item, and Somersault at tier III. Thanks to Armagedon13 and icicle1133 for their lists.

Earlier versions, and the details

Every version's changes, in full, are in the changelog.
